Role Overview:

The Operational Risk Manager, Account Compliance plays a critical role in safeguarding Amazon's business by identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks related to account compliance. This role involves working closely with various teams, including legal, compliance, operations, and technology, to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a robust control environment, preventing financial losses, and protecting Amazon's reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement operational risk management frameworks and methodologies specific to account compliance for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.

- Conduct risk assessments and control evaluations to identify gaps and weaknesses in account compliance processes, recommending and implementing corrective actions.

- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness of controls and identify emerging risks related to account compliance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new controls or enhance existing controls to address identified risks.

- Conduct fraud analysis and investigations related to account compliance, identifying patterns and trends to prevent future occurrences.

- Provide training and guidance to business units on operational risk management principles and account compliance requirements.

- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices related to account compliance, ensuring that Amazon's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.

- Prepare and present reports on operational risk and compliance matters to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in operational risk management, internal control, and compliance within a complex, regulated environment.

- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and implement effective controls.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess risks and develop practical solutions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.

- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to account compliance, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations.

- Experience in fraud analysis and investigation, with the ability to identify patterns and trends.

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CRM, CCEP) preferred.

- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, or audit roles within the financial services or technology industry.
