The operations site at Hyderabad manage critical pre-marketplace and post-arc marketplace launch activities. - Manager, Localization Operations - We are looking for high-potential, flexible, innovative, and forward-thinking professional to join Amazon. This role requires a very effective communicator with superior relationship building skills, program management experience, and a passion for process and continuous improvement. - The candidate will need to understand the complexities of a high growth, fast-paced, high performing organization and can handle multiple, abstract projects while dealing with constant change. The candidate will also have a strong desire to achieve results, continuously raise the bar, and effectively manage time, priorities and deliverables. - You will be responsible for ensuring successful delivery of business goals, effective people management and adherence of productivity and quality assurance targets while leading a team of highly skilled associates & Managers. This is an opportunity that requires a critical thinker with strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Set the vision, direction, and culture of the site by managing individual and team performances, and goals - Work with product management/Engineering teams to understand program requirements and jointly develop a solution to drive automation and improve productivity - Thrive and operate in a variable & grey environment by addressing situations of low workload forecast, varying customer priorities, changing mix of workload which will impact productivity bar and cross-skilling of resources for most optimum throughput management - Use data to drive decisions and be comfortable to evaluate one-way/ two-way door decisions in the absence of data using anecdotes and surveys - Develop team goals and metrics that allow for accurate measurement and traction towards solving a business problem, achieve buy-in from stakeholders and actively report progress on the goals - Measure performance through metrics, providing feedback, and holding Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments - Use industry proven tools such as lean/six sigma to drive operational efficiencies and quality improvement in the operations team under your purview - People management i.e. performance appraisals, goal setting, training and mentoring talent to grow within organization & control attrition - Create workload forecasting models and resource management models in order to balance goal delivery vs responsible hiring - Set the right bar for the managers and associates on Amazon culture and Leadership Principles BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 12+ years of relevant experience, including 6+ yrs of program management and/or operations experience and demonstrated success. - Full time MBA from a top ranking institute - Accomplished professional history of delivering projects within scope and budget, on-time, while meeting required quality standards, - Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills; demonstrated success in achieving buy-in for an innovative, bold and strategic vision - Demonstrate strong track record of team leadership within a large scale rapid and process driven environment - Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and continuously learn in an agile environment. - Problem Solving: Deliver solutions to complex problems through in-depth data analysis, identification of right root cause using methodical approach with experience, innovation and judgment to make decisions that may be based on partial information. - Excellent judgments to ensure timely decisions are made on a regular basis. Demonstrated ability to get things done and be resourceful. - Goal driven, target orientated, able to step back and look at the bigger picture and long term vision for the department - Self-driven, ability to work independently to develop and execute strategies with minimal supervision PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts desired and certification is a plus - PMP certification
