Role Overview:
The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of logistics operations, driving operational excellence, scalability, profitability, and service quality across regions. This role requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in large-scale logistics, supply chain optimization, P&L management, and stakeholder governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the long-term operations strategy aligned with organizational growth and business objectives.
- Lead expansion across new geographies, clients, and service lines while ensuring operational readiness.
- Act as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to corporate strategy, budgeting, and business planning.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee end-to-end logistics operations including first-mile, mid-mile, last-mile, warehousing, fleet, and workforce management.
- Drive continuous improvement through process re-engineering, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure consistent service delivery, SLA adherence, and high customer satisfaction across all locations.
Financial & P&L Ownership:
- Own P&L responsibility for logistics operations, including cost optimization, margin improvement, and productivity enhancement.
- Develop and monitor operating budgets, forecasts, and KPI dashboards.
- Drive vendor negotiations, contract management, and cost governance.
People & Leadership:
- Build and mentor a high-performing senior leadership team across operations, planning, compliance, and quality.
- Drive workforce strategy including manpower planning, productivity benchmarks, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and operational discipline.
Compliance, Risk & Governance:
- Ensure adherence to statutory, labor, safety, and regulatory requirements across all operating regions.
- Establish strong governance frameworks, audits, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Act as the senior escalation point for operational, compliance, and client issues.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead relationships with key enterprise clients, partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Support business development by enabling scalable, compliant, and cost-effective operations.
- Represent the organization in strategic reviews, audits, and executive-level discussions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 18-25+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or large-scale operations, with at least 7-10 years in a CXO / EVP / Business Head role.
- Proven experience managing multi-location, high-volume logistics operations.
- Strong P&L ownership and turnaround or scale-up experience.
- Deep understanding of Indian logistics ecosystem, labor laws, and compliance frameworks.
- MBA / Post-Graduate degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Management preferred.
