Company Overview:

Allianz Group is one of the world's leading insurers and asset managers, built on more than a century of stability, expertise and financial strength.

Allianz Services operates as a global services organisation supporting Allianz entities across markets through specialised capabilities spanning insurance operations, technology, analytics, consulting and transformation.

The organisation combines deep insurance expertise with technology, data and strategic advisory capabilities to help Allianz businesses transform operations, improve customer outcomes and build sustainable future-ready operating models.

Role Overview:

The Business Consultant / Senior Business Consultant will be part of an in-house Business Consulting function that operates as a strategic advisory unit within the organisation.

The consulting team partners closely with senior leadership to address complex strategic, operational and technology-related challenges within the insurance industry.

This is an individual contributor consulting role involving advisory, structured problem solving, project leadership and stakeholder management. The role is not focused on hands-on execution or conventional project tracking; instead, the consultant will diagnose business problems, shape solutions, develop recommendations and provide consulting oversight through implementation.

While the position requires strong grounding in General Insurance, the consultant may support initiatives spanning multiple insurance businesses including Life & Health, Property & Casualty, Commercial Insurance and other insurance entities.

The successful candidate will bring strong consulting capability, insurance domain expertise, analytical rigour and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Consulting & Strategic Advisory:

- Lead consulting engagements end-to-end, from initial scoping and problem diagnosis through recommendations, implementation support and benefits tracking.

- Diagnose complex strategic, operational and organisational problems using structured consulting frameworks.

- Identify root causes, improvement opportunities and strategic alternatives.

- Develop evidence-based recommendations relating to business strategy, organisational structure, operating models and performance improvement.

- Prepare high-quality consulting deliverables including diagnostic reports, business cases, operating model designs and executive presentations.

- Provide independent and objective perspectives to senior business stakeholders.

- Challenge existing ways of working constructively while introducing relevant market practices and industry benchmarks.

2. Stakeholder Management & Executive Engagement:

- Design and facilitate executive workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews.

- Engage senior leaders to identify key business issues and establish alignment around proposed solutions.

- Present recommendations clearly and persuasively to executive stakeholders.

- Tailor communication style, level of detail and recommendations based on stakeholder requirements.

- Build credibility and influence across business functions without relying on formal authority.

- Navigate complex stakeholder environments and facilitate consensus around transformation initiatives.

3. Insurance Domain Expertise:

- Apply strong knowledge of General Insurance operations and distribution across areas such as underwriting, claims, policy administration and insurance distribution.

- Demonstrate domain expertise across insurance segments such as:

1. Motor Insurance

2. Property Insurance

3. Commercial Lines

4. Liability Insurance

5. Specialty Insurance

6. Reinsurance

- Engage credibly with underwriters, claims leaders, actuaries and other insurance professionals.

- Understand insurance business models, profitability drivers, risk considerations and operational performance metrics.

- Monitor insurance market developments, competitive trends and regulatory developments.

- Translate relevant market trends into strategic implications and actionable recommendations for business leadership.

4. Regulatory & Compliance Advisory:

- Maintain awareness of the regulatory environment affecting General Insurance businesses.

- Ensure consulting recommendations and transformation initiatives remain aligned with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.

- Support regulatory change programmes where they intersect with strategic, operational or technology transformation initiatives.

5. Technology-Enabled Business Transformation:

- Act as the business-side strategic advisor on technology-enabled transformation programmes.

- Bridge the gap between business objectives and technology delivery teams.

- Define business strategy, target operating models and future-state designs for major technology and digital transformation initiatives.

- Support development of technology investment business cases.

- Perform benefits framing, ROI modelling, cost-benefit assessment and initiative prioritisation.

- Ensure technology initiatives remain aligned with business objectives throughout the programme lifecycle.

- Provide consulting oversight rather than functioning solely as an IT or technology delivery resource.

6. Transformation Delivery & Change Management:

- Translate strategic recommendations into programme objectives, transformation roadmaps and measurable success metrics.

- Provide consulting oversight throughout programme delivery to maintain alignment with the original strategic objectives.

- Integrate business readiness into transformation initiatives.

- Conduct current-state assessments and process diagnostics.

- Lead future-state process redesign initiatives.

- Design scalable and sustainable operating models.

- Ensure redesigned processes are appropriately documented and transitioned to business teams.

- Quantify potential financial and operational benefits of improvement programmes.

- Track benefits realisation against approved projections and business cases.

8. Project Ownership & Consulting Delivery:
