Commercial Finance Manager

The role is responsible for driving commercial governance, profitability, discount discipline and financial performance by partnering closely with the Sales and Marketing team. The role also focuses on strengthening processes, improving compliance and driving automation in commercial operations, while supporting audits and ensuring adherence to commercial policies.

Job holder responsibilities:

- Lead the governance and management of trade spends including Discounts, Schemes, Rebates, Promotions/Gifts, FOCs and Loyalty Programs - ensuring accurate accruals, commercial validation, budget adherence and timely settlements to customers.

- Ensure accuracy and integrity of commercial documentation such as Credit Notes and Credit Invoices, proactively identifying anomalies or unusual trends to prevent revenue leakage and strengthen financial controls.

- Drive quarterly Contracts performance reviews with the Sales team, including structured action planning and follow-up to maximize value realization from rebate agreements, supported by clear management reporting.

- Facilitate and resolve commercial disputes with customers in a timely manner through effective coordination with Sales, Finance and Customer Service teams.

- Champion process improvements and digital transformation initiatives, focusing on simplification, automation and standardization of commercial processes.

- Act as the custodian of Commercial Policies and SOPs, ensuring adherence across the organization and publishing a monthly compliance dashboard for leadership review.

- Support internal and external audits including IFC compliance, serving as the key interface between auditors and the Customer Service / Commercial Operations teams.

Job requirements

- Finance professional (CA) with 3+ years of experience in Commercial finance with demonstrated strong commercial acumen in earlier roles.

- Prior experience as branch commercial manager/commercial finance in FMCG preferred

- Strong in both compliance and business navigation

- Should be proactive, a problem solver & able to work independently with minimum supervision.

- Strong communication and Interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage both the external (customers, vendors) and internal stakeholders (sales leads, functional leads)
