Role Overview:
- The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, revenue growth, and market expansion within the assigned territory. The role involves managing channel partners, leading the field sales team, executing sales strategies, and strengthening customer relationships to achieve business objectives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets for the assigned area on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Develop and implement area-wise sales plans aligned with organizational goals
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customers to drive growth
Channel & Distributor Management:
- Appoint, develop, and manage distributors, dealers, and key channel partners
- Ensure optimal distributor performance through regular reviews and support
- Monitor distributor stock levels, secondary sales, and market coverage
Team Management & Capability Building:
- Lead, coach, and motivate the field sales team to improve productivity and performance
- Conduct regular field visits, joint calls, and performance reviews
- Provide ongoing training on products, sales techniques, and market practices
Market Development & Execution:
- Drive market penetration, visibility, and brand presence across the assigned territory
- Execute trade marketing initiatives, promotions, and sales campaigns
- Monitor competitor activities and recommend corrective actions
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with key customers, retailers, and influencers
- Address customer concerns and ensure high levels of satisfaction
- Identify opportunities for long-term partnerships and business growth
Planning, Reporting & Analysis:
- Track sales performance, analyze trends, and prepare regular MIS reports
- Forecast sales accurately and ensure effective demand planning
- Use market insights and data to improve sales strategies
Compliance & Process Adherence:
- Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing, credit norms, and ethical standards
- Manage claims, schemes, and budgets within approved limits
