Manager - Operations Planning

Job Description:

Strategy and Leadership:

- Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Airline Operations Excellence department.

- Lead and mentor a team of analysts and operations researchers to ensure they are motivated and aligned with department goals.

- Collaborate with senior management to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress toward operational excellence.

- Build long-term resource plans for various operational teams

Data Analytics:

- Utilize advanced analytics techniques to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

- Develop predictive models to optimize scheduling, resource allocation, and maintenance planning.

- Drive data-driven decision-making across the airline's operations.

- Build dashboards and monitor/control for operations excellence

Operations Research:

- Apply operations research methodologies to solve complex problems in crew scheduling, airports, dispatch and crew

- Lead the development of optimization algorithms and tools to improve operational efficiency.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement operations research solutions.

Performance Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within airline operations.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement operational improvement initiatives.

- Monitor the effectiveness of improvement projects and adjust strategies as needed.

Budget and Resource Management:

- Develop and manage department budgets and resource allocation plans.

- Ensure cost-effective utilization of resources while maintaining operational excellence.

Collaboration:

- Collaborate with various departments, including flight operations, maintenance, ground services, and customer service, to ensure seamless passenger experience.

- Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork to achieve operational goals.

Eligibility:

- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Operations Research, Analytics, Engineering)

- Proven experience in airline operations, analytics, planning, or operations research

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., R, Python, Power BI, Microsoft Excel).

- In-depth knowledge of operations research methodologies, optimization, and simulation techniques.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and projects effectively.

- A passion for innovation and driving operational excellence in the airline industry.

- Understanding aviation regulations and safety standards is a plus.
