Air India - Chief Manager- AI & ML Application
JOB PURPOSE:
- To lead the strategic integration and application of AI and machine learning technologies and forecasting techniques within the revenue management department to optimize revenue performance and enhance decision-making processes
- To oversee the design, development and implementation of advanced statistical models &algorithms for revenue optimization, inventory and pricing. and processes for innovative revenue management strategies.
- Leverage Data Science for incremental revenue opportunities & provide leadership to the team of Data Scientists and Analysts
- Oversee the research, guide project teams, collaborate with stakeholders to design andimplement AI/ML based projects.
- Drive the strategic vision and roadmap for AI/ML initiatives within the RM department of commercial to optimize revenue performance, and improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee and enhance existing forecasting models , customer segmentation, critical flight alert, A/B testing and ChatGPT-powered chatbot, etc.
- Identify and implement new machine learning or AI models, leading to incremental revenue opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Revenue Management (Inventory and Pricing), Network Planning, Sales, Marketing, and external partners to align AI/ML initiatives with broader business goals.
- Keep abreast with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI/ML, adopting best practicesto drive innovation.
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and analysts, promoting a collaborative and innovative working culture.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Leadership in AI & ML Strategies
- Direct the design, development and execution of AI-driven revenue optimization models, capacity-based inventory optimization, pricing optimization and machine learning applications that forecast revenue trends, demand patterns, and customer behaviors.
Innovation and System Enhancements
- Identify opportunities for technological advancements within revenue management systems, ensuring the integration of AI and ML enhances data accuracy, efficiency, and actionable insights.
Collaborative Project Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within revenue management and IT to develop and implement data-driven solutions that improve overall revenue performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network planning, sales & marketing to implement innovative revenue management strategies and initiatives based on market insights and data analysis.
- Share best practices with Cargo & Network Planning
Team Development and Mentoring
- Provide leadership and guidance to the revenue data science team and new tools and apps development team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, learning on new technologies, industry trends and champion AI/ML initiatives in commercial. Bring about the innovations by bringing in new projects in-line with technological advancements in revenue management and commercials at large.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Establish key performance metrics for AI and ML applications, continuously monitoring their impact on revenue and adapting strategies to meet evolving market and business needs.
- Monitoring of algorithms' working and corresponding impact on revenue. Innovative KPIs to measure the impact of various processes
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
