Role Overview:

- The Lead Internal Auditor is a critical, full-time, on-site leadership position based in Delhi, responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing comprehensive internal audit engagements across Aimlay's global operations.

- This role requires a professional with a minimum of 6 years of dedicated audit experience and strong expertise in conducting Financial Audits and Process Audits.

- The incumbent will be instrumental in safeguarding company assets, enhancing the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes, and driving strategic improvements to internal controls through evidence-based reporting.

Core Responsibilities and Audit Execution:

- Audit Planning and Execution: Oversee and lead the planning, scoping, and execution of complex internal audit engagements, ensuring alignment with professional standards and organizational risk priorities.

- Financial and Process Audit: Demonstrate strong expertise in conducting Financial Audits (e.g., balance sheet reconciliation, revenue assurance, expense validation) and thorough Process Audits to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of operational workflows.

- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Systematically analyze financial data, identify risks across key business functions (e.g., admissions, fee collection, vendor management), and assess the adequacy of existing controls to mitigate those risks.

- Internal Controls Evaluation: Critically evaluate and test the effectiveness of the company's internal control environment, ensuring control design and operating effectiveness align with best practices and legal requirements.

- Data Analysis and Discrepancy Identification: Utilize Proficiency in Analytical Skills and data mining techniques to assess large volumes of transactional data, identify anomalies, discrepancies, and patterns indicative of control weaknesses or potential fraud.

- Regulatory Compliance: Possess strong Knowledge of Finance principles and regulatory compliance relevant to the education sector and global operations (e.g., foreign exchange, data protection, and local tax laws).

Reporting and Stakeholder Communication:

- Audit Report Generation: Generate detailed, accurate Audit Reports that clearly articulate audit findings, risk exposures, and present well-supported, practical recommendations for strengthening internal controls and improving operational efficiency.

- Communication and Collaboration: Employ Excellent Communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, IT) to gather information, validate findings, and gain consensus on proposed corrective actions.

- Presentation to Management: Effectively communicate findings to management and governance bodies (e.g., Audit Committee) for strategic decision-making, ensuring findings are clearly understood and prioritized.

- Follow-up and Remediation: Monitor and track the timely implementation of agreed-upon audit recommendations by management, verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions taken.

Required Qualifications and Attributes:

- Experience: Minimum 6 years of Audit experience is required, preferably within a large multinational or high-growth environment.

- Core Skills: Strong, demonstrable expertise in conducting Financial Audits, Process Audit, and preparing accurate Audit Reports.

- Financial Acumen: Solid Knowledge of Finance principles and regulatory compliance.

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail and professional skepticism.
