Key Responsibilities
1. Distribution Network Development & Tie-Ups
- Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with Mutual Fund Distributors (MFDs), Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs), National Distributors (NDs), and Regional Distributors across India.
- Build and maintain strategic tie-ups with bank wealth desks (private banking divisions, HNI desks) of leading public and private sector banks.
- Forge partnerships with wealth management companies, PMS providers, and multi-family offices to drive fund placement.
- Negotiate and finalise distribution agreements, trailer/brokerage structures, and co-marketing arrangements with channel partners.
- Maintain a strong and regularly updated pipeline of channel partner relationships at various stages of engagement.
2. Family Office & HNI/UHNI Investor Outreach
- Leverage an existing network of family offices, ultra-HNI investors, and institutional investors to originate capital commitments for Aikyam's funds.
- Conduct targeted outreach and in-person meetings with family office CIOs, CFOs, and principals across key metros (Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Pune).
- Build a robust investor contact database and maintain accurate CRM records of all interactions, commitments, and follow-ups.
- Represent Aikyam at industry conferences, investor summits, roadshows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
3. Fund Raising & AUM Growth
- Own and drive the end-to-end fund-raising process for Aikyam's existing inbound AIF and all future fund launches.
- Set and execute against quarterly and annual AUM targets in coordination with the leadership team.
- Develop customised pitch decks, fund presentations, and investor communication materials in collaboration with the investment team.
- Manage the investor onboarding process, working closely with operations and compliance teams to ensure a seamless experience.
- Provide regular fund-raising updates and pipeline reports to senior management.
4. Marketing, Promotions & Contest Management
- Design and execute fund-raising campaigns, promotional contests, and incentive programmes for distribution partners (MFDs, IFAs, wealth managers).
- Develop and manage a calendar of investor outreach activities, including webinars, roadshows, investor days, and partner meets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce marketing collateral, newsletters, digital content, and thought leadership pieces targeted at the wealth distribution community.
- Track the effectiveness of promotional initiatives and optimise spend and approach based on outcomes.
- Coordinate with SEBI/IFSCA-compliant marketing standards to ensure all fund promotion materials meet regulatory requirements.
5. Investor Relations & Servicing
- Act as the primary point of contact for channel partners and direct investors, ensuring timely communication on fund performance, updates, and corporate actions.
- Prepare and distribute regular investor reports, fund factsheets, and performance commentary in coordination with the investment team.
- Handle investor queries, concerns, and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships with channel partners and investors to ensure retention and repeat commitments across new fund launches.
6. Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Stay current on competitor fund products, industry distribution trends, regulatory changes, and investor sentiment to identify new opportunities and adapt distribution strategy.
- Provide the leadership team with regular market intelligence on distribution landscape, competitor activity, and emerging fund categories of investor interest.
- Contribute to the product development process by providing investor and channel feedback on fund structures, fee models, and target returns.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A highly networked professional with established, active relationships across MFDs, IFAs, wealth management firms, bank wealth desks, and family offices - not just names in a contact list, but individuals who will take your call.
- Proven track record of independently raising capital or achieving distribution milestones in a mutual fund, AIF, PMS, or wealth management organisation.
- Deep understanding of the Indian wealth and distribution landscape, including how different channel types (bank wealth, NDs, IFAs, family offices) operate and make allocation decisions.
- Commercially sharp with strong negotiation skills and the ability to close partnerships and commitments.
- Self-starter who can operate with a high degree of independence and ownership in a lean, entrepreneurial team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to represent the firm credibly in front of sophisticated investors and institutional partners.
- Willingness to travel extensively pan-India to build and service relationships.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of AIF regulations (SEBI AIF Regulations), IFSCA guidelines for GIFT City funds, and the broader regulatory framework governing fund distribution in India.
- Familiarity with fund structures: AIF (Category I, II, III), mutual funds, PMS, and offshore fund products.
- Proficiency in CRM tools for managing investor pipelines and partner relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret fund performance reports, NAV statements, and portfolio attribution - sufficient to have credible conversations with sophisticated investors.
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills for creating pitchbooks, fund presentations, and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence for managing long-term relationships at senior levels.
Educational Background & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA (Finance) / PGDM from a reputed institution is strongly preferred.
- NISM Series V-A (Mutual Fund Distributor) certification is required or must be obtained within probation period.
- CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or CWM (Chartered Wealth Manager) designations will be an added advantage.
- IFSCA / GIFT City fund distribution certification (if available) will be a strong plus.
Work Experience
- 8+ years of experience in business development, fund distribution, or investor relations roles within the mutual fund, AIF, PMS, or wealth management industry.
- Demonstrable experience managing and growing distribution relationships with MFDs, IFAs, NDs, or bank wealth desks.
- Prior exposure to AIF or offshore fund products and GIFT City structures will be a significant differentiator.
- Experience working at or closely with Asset Management Companies (AMCs), wealth management firms, or private banks in a fund-raising or distribution capacity.
- Track record of independently contributing to or owning AUM targets in a previous role.
