AIF Compliance Officer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and proactive AIF Compliance Officer to join our Mumbai-based team. In this role, you will serve as the primary guardian of our regulatory framework, ensuring that all fund activities strictly adhere to SEBI guidelines and internal policies.

You will work closely with investment teams, fund managers, and external auditors to navigate the complexities of the Alternative Investment Fund landscape. By maintaining robust compliance standards, you will directly safeguard the firm’s reputation, mitigate operational risks, and ensure seamless fund operations, ultimately fostering trust with our investors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the end-to-end compliance lifecycle for AIF schemes to ensure full alignment with SEBI regulations and statutory requirements.

- Manage the timely filing of periodic reports and disclosures with regulatory bodies to maintain the firm's good standing.

- Conduct thorough internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential gaps in operational processes and implement corrective measures.

- Collaborate with legal counsel and external consultants to interpret evolving regulatory circulars and integrate them into existing workflows.

- Facilitate the onboarding process for investors by ensuring rigorous KYC and AML checks are executed to meet global compliance standards.

- Provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory implications of new investment strategies to support informed decision-making.

Required Skillset:

- Possess a deep understanding of the SEBI (Alternative Investment Funds) Regulations, 2012, and demonstrate the ability to apply these rules to complex fund structures.

- Exhibit strong analytical capabilities to interpret legal documentation and translate regulatory requirements into actionable operational procedures.

- Communicate complex compliance matters clearly and persuasively to senior management and external partners to drive organizational alignment.

- Demonstrate a high level of professional integrity and attention to detail when managing sensitive documentation and regulatory filings.

- Hold a professional degree in Law, Finance, or a related field, complemented by a proactive approach to staying updated on the changing financial regulatory landscape.
