Role Overview:

The Assistant Manager - Business Finance will be responsible for driving analytical insights, financial discipline, and operational benchmarking across the organisation.

The role partners closely with Supply, Demand, Growth, Technology, and Operations teams to monitor KPIs, control expenses, analyse variances, and support decision-making for new initiatives.

This position is ideal for someone who is strong in analytics, structured thinking, financial modelling, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

KPI & Business:

- AnalyticsOwn and drive organisation-level KPI tracking by coordinating with Supply, Demand, Growth, Tech, and other functions to ensure accurate, aligned, and actionable performance metrics that directly impact business outcomes.

- Perform triangulation of KPIs across functions to surface insights, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.

- Conduct deep-dive analysis into key business drivers, operational bottlenecks, and growth levers.

- Develop benchmarking models for business processes, costs, and productivity metrics.

Expense Controlling & Variance:

- AnalysisMonitor monthly expenses, highlight deviations from budgets, and provide corrective action recommendations.

- Perform root-cause analysis on cost overruns or inefficiencies.

- Validate expenses from different departments and ensure adherence to financial discipline.

MIS:

- ReportingPrepare monthly/weekly MIS reports covering P&L, budget vs. actuals, KPI performance, and business commentary.

- Collaborate with functional heads to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely consolidation of inputs.

- Translate complex data into actionable insights for management reviews.

Financial Modelling & New Initiatives:

- Support modelling for new charters, pilots, and strategic initiatives (unit economics, ROI, sensitivity analysis).

- Build basic financial models for scenario planning and business case evaluations.

- Track performance of new initiatives and ensure alignment with financial targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with Supply, Demand, Growth, Tech, and Operations to align data definitions, validate KPIs, and drive analytical consistency.

- Facilitate structured review mechanisms through dashboards, trackers, and insights.

- Act as the analytical and financial bridge between business teams and management for process improvements and governance.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Technical Skills:

- Advanced Excel - strong command over formulas, pivot tables, lookups, arrays, Power Query, and dashboards.

- Basic Financial Modelling - structured forecasting, linking sheets, and scenario analysis.

- KPI Analytics - strong ability to work with large datasets and translate business metrics into insights.

- Working knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.

- Solid understanding of P&L, budgeting, and unit economics.

Educational & Experience:


- Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field. MBA/PGDM in Finance or related discipline preferred.

- 2-4 years of experience in Business Finance, FP&A, Strategy, or Analytics. Experience in digital marketplace, supply chain, agri-tech, or FMCG is an advantage.
