This position is responsible for handling all the matters related to GST across all locations including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Pondy etc. This includes all compliances, payments and litigation relating to GST, erstwhile indirect tax laws. The position is also responsible for Liaising with the advocates, auditors, statutory bodies and government agencies for GST. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: - 100% Compliance in GST - Liaising with Department/Auditors/Consultants for GST audit & notices - Guiding the GST team in executing day to day operations, timely filing of returns - Driving automation for better GST compliance KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic: - Devise strategies for Tax planning and ensure effective implementation of standard processes related to GST across all locations - Keep abreast with updates and changes in the laws related to GST, understand their implications and provide inputs for effective decision making/ compliance - To identify potential opportunities to take advantage of tax exemptions and benefits available - Vet proposals/ bids/ agreements from GST angle and provide inputs to ensure compliance Taxation and Filing of returns - Ensure that there are no deviations from the standardized processes as determined by the taxation team and all transactions are executed with highest level of accuracy. - Ensure 100% checking of all GST payments, returns and MIS. - Ensure timely filing of returns for all states. - Establish and implement effective documentation system for maintaining papers related to litigation and ensure that the documents are easily retrievable. - Ensure timely and accurate updating of SAP with regards to all matters pertaining to GST - To ensure that all documents pertaining to taxation are filed in a secure manner and are easily retrievable Audit and Compliance: - Ensure compliance with all the necessary statutory and regulatory requirements. - Audit GST compliance at all locations including showrooms, Regional offices. - Respond to queries raised by statutory departments related to GST in an appropriate and timely manner - Ensure timely action is taken on appeals, and pursues effective resolution, compilation and spread work for the same - Handle disputes and litigation matters related to GST and represent in tribunals, arbitrations and courts - Liaisoning with Auditors, consultants, lawyers and coordinate to ensure company is appropriately represented before statutory bodies and courts - Manage performance of the team and ensure that team is working in line with organizational value system. - Ensure team is adequately trained and proactively work with HR at capability enhancement of team Education and Experience Required: Education: C.A Experience: - Overall 5 to 10 years - Experience in GST (mandatory) - SAP Knowledge (Preferable)
