Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Responsible for finalisation of accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Conduct cost vs. variance analysis, reconciliation with DISCOMs/clients.
- Sound knowledge of DSM regulations.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends/variances, and highlight cost optimization opportunities.
- Provide actionable financial insights to senior management.
- Monitor financial metrics specific to the energy/power sector.
Prepare financial proposals for banks including:
- CMA data.
- Project reports.
- DSCR reports.
- Cash budgeting reports.
- Financial projections aligned with industry trends.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with plant operations for accurate budget and financial forecasting.
- Prepare costing and operating financial indicators.
- Manage financial elements of offtake agreements and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
- Provide strategic insights related to energy pricing and contracts.
Cost Management:
- Oversee cost accounting activities, including:.
- Fuel cost tracking.
Maintenance expenses:
- Operational efficiency metrics.
- Implement cost control and reduction strategies without affecting plant performance.
- Analyze and report key cost drivers and KPIs (e., variable/fixed O&M cost per MWh).
Compliance & Regulatory:
- Ensure compliance with financial and industry regulations such as GST, Income Tax, ESIC/PF.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports.
- Liaise with auditors and authorities during inspections and audits.
- Internal Controls, Processes & Risk Management.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls for safeguarding assets.
- Streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of energy trading and hedging transactions.
- Implement best practices for managing market, credit, and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations (IT, GST, DISCOMs, etc.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
- Coordinate with other departments to align financial planning with operational goals.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration on capital projects and initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting or Finance with a CA qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/finance in the energy or power sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles under GAAP and Ind AS.
- Proficient in accounting software, Advanced Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems.
- Experience with Excel dashboards for MIS reporting.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle fast-paced and dynamic work environments.
- Proven collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English, Telugu, and Hindi.
Understanding of:
- Fuel efficiency ratios.
- Heat rates.
- Capacity utilization.
- Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE).
