Role Senior Manager Strategic Projects & Business Development Function Transformation Office Reporting to Head-Strategy Location Mumbai HO (Lower Parel) Job Purpose - Many strategic and complex long-term projects are foreseen, be they internal via our transformation journey or external ones driven by the regulator. All involve substantial number of internal and external stakeholders and require coordination for bringing them together for realization. - One such immediate critical project is from IRDAI where they want to drive penetration in the underinsured populations through a focus on each State and Union Territory. For this proliferation of insurance, they have assigned a lead insurer for each state and AFLI has been appointed as lead insurer in Kerala. Besides each company has responsibility to coordinate and execute the plans in every other state as a participating insurer. - Hence the purpose of this role will be to lead, coordinate, plan and execute such strategic projects for AFLI. Key Responsibility: Research, Planning & Project Governance - Support in research and planning stages of relevant strategic projects, which includes regular updates wrt new information, incorporating views of stakeholders, re-calibration of plan (if required) etc. - Ensuring all sign offs on the plan - Preparing roadmap for execution of plan in collaboration with relevant stakeholders - Setting monitoring & governance mechanisms for all relevant projects - Leading overall coordination of strategic projects for successful execution - Lead/manage/coordinate/drive the strategic projects with functional teams, distributors, vendors etc. - Support internally in managing and executing all necessary project activities via respective departments, within given timelines. - Monitor, review, and report on the progress to senior management & all key stakeholders Business Development - Research and identify areas of BD opportunity linked to the project objectives. To being with, Kerala would be the key market in relation to reaching the underinsured (as per IRDAI State Insurance Plan) but may also extend to supporting research in other states. - Scan market for potential tied ups (starting with Kerala) which will help us in expanding the reach of insurance. - Conduct all preparatory work for such deals which includes preparing pitch document, responses for potential new partners etc. - Negotiate and close deals to onboard new partners. - Leveraging our main distributors, Federal Bank & IDBI Bank contacts with state /district officials, NGOs etc. - Leverage other non-partner bank contacts for identification of new BD opportunities Experience 1. University qualification 2. Proven track record in managing complex and critical projects 3. 7+ experience in relevant positions 4. Ability to work with very senior executives. 5. Strong analytical and communication skills
