Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Liaisoning Manager with strong exposure to government liaisoning, approvals, permits, and regulatory compliance for real estate projects. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end coordination with government authorities, ensuring timely approvals and statutory compliance, and supporting internal project stakeholders through the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Government Liaisoning:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for interactions and communications with government authorities (local/state/central bodies).
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant government officials, regulatory agencies, and departments for effective liaisoning.
- Track new laws, regulations, and policies related to real estate/construction and ensure
compliance.
Approvals and Permits:
- Coordinate and facilitate timely acquisition of approvals, permits, licenses, and clearances for real estate projects.
- Prepare, validate, and submit required documents, applications, and reports as per statutory requirements.
- Monitor progress of approvals, follow up with authorities, and resolve issues/delays as required.
Compliance and Regulatory Matters:
- Ensure compliance with laws, building codes, environmental guidelines, and statutory requirements applicable to projects.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits/reviews to identify gaps and improvement areas.
- Develop and implement internal processes/systems to strengthen compliance adherence.
Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders (government officials, industry associations, local communities, external entities).
- Represent the company in meetings/negotiations/discussions and safeguard the company's interests.
Project Support and Documentation:
- Provide liaisoning guidance to project teams, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support preparation/review of project documents (land acquisition papers, NOCs, agreements, contracts) for accuracy and compliance.
Advisory and Risk Management:
- Provide advisory on regulatory matters, policy changes, and risks impacting projects/operations.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and recommend process improvements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience 10-18 years in liaisoning and regulatory affairs within real estate, preferably with a realty company / developer OR with BMC (recently retired Class I/II officers from Building & Proposals department preferred).
- Strong knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, building codes, and government approval processes.
- Clear understanding of local, state, and central government structures and procedures.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and document review capability.
- Strong problem-solving approach to navigate regulatory complexities.
- Familiarity with project management principles in real estate.
