Role Overview:
The Finance Controller position at Adani Enterprises Limited in Ahmedabad is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial health and integrity of the organization. This role involves managing the financial reporting process, ensuring robust internal controls, leading budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. The Finance Controller will collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, procurement, and sales, to ensure financial compliance and efficiency. The position reports to the CFO and will be instrumental in maintaining the financial stability and growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, mitigating financial risks and promoting operational efficiency.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic and achievable financial plans that align with the company's strategic objectives, enabling informed decision-making and resource allocation.
- Manage cost accounting activities, including variance analysis and cost optimization initiatives, to improve profitability and operational efficiency, providing insights to management for cost reduction strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, overseeing tax planning and reporting activities to minimize tax liabilities and maintain a strong relationship with tax authorities.
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit and addressing any audit findings in a timely manner, maintaining the integrity of financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain SAP services to ensure efficient and accurate financial data management, streamlining financial processes and improving reporting capabilities.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements, analysis of financial data, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Proven ability to design and implement effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Strong budgeting and forecasting skills, including the ability to develop realistic financial plans and monitor performance against budget.
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices, including variance analysis and cost optimization techniques.
- Excellent understanding of tax laws and regulations, with experience in tax planning and reporting.
- Proficiency in SAP services, with the ability to leverage SAP functionalities for financial data management and reporting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of finance professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, MBA) is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
