We are seeking a Project Finance Senior Associate to be an extension of our European-based client team, ensuring the fulfillment of applicable SLAs. Location: Gurgaon, Bangalore, Pune (Work from Office) Work Hours: 10 AM - 7 PM IST Department: Lending Services Experience Level: 4-5 years Job Purpose As a Senior Associate, you will be a key contributor to our Project Finance team, focusing on the detailed monitoring and credit review of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and energy projects. You'll gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication, ensuring the ongoing health of our project finance exposures. Key Responsibilities - Portfolio Monitoring & Credit Review: Conduct detailed annual and quarterly credit reviews for an allocated portfolio of projects. - Assess performance against original underwriting assumptions and covenants. - Performance Analysis: Analyze financial, operational, and technical performance of projects, including comparing actuals vs. budget during the operational phase and tracking key milestones during construction. - Financial Metric Tracking: Monitor key financial metrics such as DSCR, LLCR, PLCR, IRR, and various coverage ratios. Proactively flag early warning signals to the team. - Construction Phase Support: Assist in reviewing EPC progress, cost reports, drawdowns, variation orders, contingency usage, and project timelines. Support the analysis of project risk registers and mitigation strategies. - Operational Phase Support: Help assess plant availability, capacity utilization, O&M performance, and major maintenance plans. Review revenue streams (e.g., PPA tariffs, offtake arrangements) and operating costs. - Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal credit teams and relationship managers to gather necessary information for reviews. Assist in preparing clear and concise review memos. - Regulatory and Compliance: Support compliance with internal risk rating models and relevant regulatory requirements. Key Competencies - Experience: 4-5 years of experience in project finance, credit analysis, or portfolio monitoring, ideally within the infrastructure and energy sectors. - Project Finance Knowledge: Foundational understanding of project finance structures, financial modeling, and basic risk assessment. - Financial Tools: Proficiency in financial analysis tools such as Excel. Exposure to Factset or CapitalIQ is a plus. - Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills for preparing review notes and engaging with team members. - Work Ethic: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines with guidance.
