Project Finance Manager About the Job Are you an experienced and strategic leader in project finance looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a highly capable and results-oriented Project Finance Manager to join our Lending Services division. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team that serves as an extension of our European-based client, ensuring top-tier service delivery and client satisfaction. Location: Gurgaon, Bangalore, Pune (Work from Office) Work Hours: 10 AM - 7 PM IST Department: Lending Services Experience Level: 8-9 years Job Purpose As a Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team in the comprehensive monitoring and credit review of a significant portfolio of project finance exposures. You will drive operational excellence, mentor team members, identify opportunities for process enhancements, and ensure that all deliverables align with client expectations and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Management: - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Finance professionals, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment. - Oversee workload allocation and ensure timely completion of all deliverables. Strategic Portfolio Oversight: - Provide strategic oversight for the annual and quarterly credit review processes for a complex portfolio of allocated projects. - Ensure rigorous assessment of performance against underwriting assumptions and covenants. Advanced Performance Analysis: - Direct the in-depth analysis of financial, operational, and technical performance across projects, including sophisticated comparisons of actuals vs. budget and critical review of project milestones. Proactive Risk Management: - Oversee the monitoring of key financial metrics (DSCR, LLCR, PLCR, IRR, coverage ratios), ensuring the proactive identification of early warning signals and potential credit impacts. Construction & Operational Phase Expertise: - Provide expert guidance on the review of EPC progress, cost reports, drawdowns, variation orders, contingency usage, and timelines. - Lead the analysis of project risk registers, mitigation strategies, and sector-specific risks (e.g., curtailment, toll collection efficiency). Stakeholder Engagement: - Act as a primary point of contact for internal credit teams, relationship managers, and, when required, directly engage with borrowers or third-party consultants to gather critical information and present findings. High-Quality Reporting: - Review and finalize high-quality, clear, and concise credit review memos, highlighting key credit concerns, recommendations, and strategic insights for senior management and clients. Regulatory & Compliance: - Ensure the team's strict compliance with internal risk rating models and all relevant regulatory requirements for project finance exposures. - Support and coordinate responses for internal audits and regulatory reviews. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process efficiencies and enhancements within the Project Finance monitoring framework to optimize operations and improve service delivery. Key Competencies Experience: 8-9 years of extensive experience in project finance, credit analysis, or portfolio monitoring, with a proven track record across infrastructure and energy sectors. Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, fostering strong performance and collaboration. Project Finance Expertise: Deep understanding of complex project finance structures, advanced financial modeling techniques, and comprehensive risk assessment. Sector & Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with sector-specific KPIs, regulatory frameworks, and performance benchmarks. Financial Tools Mastery: Proficiency in financial analysis tools (Excel, Factset, CapitalIQ, etc.). Solid exposure to and understanding of project finance models. Exceptional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and confidently to various stakeholders, including senior management. Strategic Thinking & Execution: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and drive the successful delivery of high-quality work under pressure
