Project Finance Delivery Lead About the Job Are you a seasoned project finance professional ready to take on a leadership role? We are looking for an experienced and driven Project Finance Delivery Lead to join our Lending Services division. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient delivery of services to our European-based client, focusing on operational excellence and quality. Location: Gurgaon, Bangalore, Pune (Work from Office) Work Hours: 10 AM - 7 PM IST Department: Lending Services Experience Level: 6-7 years Job Purpose As a Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of credit reviews and portfolio monitoring activities for a critical portfolio of project finance exposures. You will ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and applicable SLAs, while also mentoring junior team members and driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities - Portfolio Monitoring & Credit Review: Lead and perform detailed annual and quarterly credit reviews for allocated projects, assessing performance against original underwriting assumptions and covenants with a keen eye for detail. - In-depth Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial, operational, and technical performance, including key project milestones (construction phase) and actual vs. budget comparisons (operational phase). - Early Warning & Risk Identification: Proactively monitor key financial metrics (DSCR, LLCR, PLCR, IRR, coverage ratios), identifying and flagging early warning signals and potential credit impacts. - Construction Phase Expertise: Critically review EPC progress, cost reports, drawdowns, variation orders, contingency usage, and timelines. - Analyze project risk registers and mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with lender expectations. - Operational Phase Oversight: Assess plant availability, capacity utilization, O&M performance, and major maintenance plans. - Review revenue streams and operating costs, ensuring adherence to financial covenants. - Identify and analyze sector-specific risks (e.g., curtailment risk, toll collection efficiency). - Stakeholder Communication: Liaise effectively with internal credit teams, relationship managers, and, when necessary, borrowers or third-party consultants to gather crucial information. - Reporting & Presentation: Prepare and present clear, concise, and high-quality review memos, highlighting key credit concerns, recommendations, and strategic insights. - Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict compliance with internal risk rating models and relevant regulatory requirements for project finance exposures. Support internal audits and regulatory reviews with comprehensive documentation and analysis. - Mentorship & Quality Assurance: Review the work of junior team members, provide constructive feedback, and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality outputs. Key Competencies - Experience: 6-7 years of experience in project finance, credit analysis, or portfolio monitoring, with a strong preference for experience across infrastructure and energy sectors. - Project Finance Expertise: Strong understanding of complex project finance structures, financial modeling, and advanced risk assessment techniques. - Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with sector-specific KPIs, regulatory frameworks, and performance benchmarks. - Financial Tools Proficiency: Proficiency in financial analysis tools (Excel, Factset, CapitalIQ, etc. Exposure to project finance models is a significant plus. - Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for preparing high-quality review notes and engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders. - Ownership & Delivery: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision. - Strong commitment to operational excellence
