Hiring for a Remote Accounting Manager to lead Canadian bookkeeping, financial statement review, and tax engagements (T1/T2) for an offshore team based in India. The role includes managing a small team, reviewing working papers in CaseWare, and coordinating with a Canadian CPA for final tax filing and assurance deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and review end-to-end bookkeeping, trial balances, and financial statements (Notice to Reader/Compilation, Review) for Canadian small and mid- size clients.
- Review engagement and audit files in CaseWare, ensure documentation and working papers are complete, and submit finalized files to the CPA for sign- off and return filing.
- Oversee preparation and review of Canadian personal (T1) and corporate (T2) income tax returns, HST/GST filings, and related compliance schedules.
- Supervise, mentor, and quality- check the work of a team of accountants/bookkeepers, ensuring adherence to deadlines, quality standards, and client SLAs.
- Liaise with onshore CPAs and client contacts to resolve queries, handle review points, and drive process improvements in accuracy, turnaround time, and documentation.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation; at least 1-2 years in a team lead or assistant manager role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and basic assurance/review engagement concepts in a CPA- firm or outsourcing environment.
- Hands-on experience with CaseWare (mandatory) for engagement files and with QuickBooks for day- to- day bookkeeping and accounting.
- Proven experience working on T1 and T2 tax returns for Canadian clients or working with Canadian/International CPA firms.
- Excellent communication skills, people management abilities, and comfort working independently in a fully remote, deadline- driven setup.

- Qualification: B.Com/M.Com/CA /CPA or equivalent accounting qualification preferred.
- Training & shift: 1-month training (8:30 am-4:30 pm IST), followed by regular Canada shift (6:30 pm-2:30 am IST), work from hom
