Role Overview:
- We are looking for a high-performing PR Account Manager / Senior Account Manager to join our BFSI-focused Public Relations team. The role involves managing strategic communication mandates for large and diversified financial services clients, including banks, NBFCs, mutual funds, fintechs, insurance companies, and asset management firms.
- This position requires a strong balance of client relationship management, strategic thinking, media expertise, crisis handling, and team leadership. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring flawless execution of PR campaigns in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for BFSI clients, ensuring strong and long-term relationships. Understand client business objectives, regulatory environment, and reputational risks.
- Proactively identify communication opportunities aligned with client goals. Manage client expectations, deliverables, timelines, and budgets effectively. Conduct regular client reviews and strategic planning discussions. Develop and execute integrated PR and corporate communication strategies for BFSI clients.
- Lead end-to-end campaign planning including: Messaging and narrative development Thought leadership programs Product launches and corporate announcements CEO/CXO profiling Ensure compliance with SEBI, RBI, IRDAI, and other regulatory communication guidelines. Drive content development including press releases, media pitches, key messages, FAQs, and briefing documents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business, financial, and BFSI journalists across print, digital, and broadcast media. Secure high-quality media coverage in national, regional, and trade publications. Manage media interactions including interviews, press conferences, media briefings, and analyst calls.
- Track media trends, competitor activity, and industry news to identify proactive opportunities. Handle crisis communication and sensitive issues such as regulatory actions, financial performance concerns, leadership changes, or reputational risks. Prepare crisis communication plans, holding statements, and Q&A documents.
- Provide real-time counsel to clients during high-pressure situations. Monitor media and social sentiment during crises and recommend corrective actions. Lead and mentor a team of 25 PR executives/assistant managers, ensuring high-quality output. Allocate work, review content, and ensure adherence to quality and brand standards.
- Support team development through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews. Collaborate closely with internal teams such as: Digital & Social Media Content & Design Research & Analytics Ensure seamless coordination across teams for integrated campaigns.
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and campaign performance reports. Analyze coverage quality, share of voice, and message penetration. Present insights and recommendations to clients.
- Support senior leadership in new business pitches, proposals, and presentations. Contribute to account growth through upselling and cross-selling PR services.
- Eligibility & Experience Experience 4-7 years of relevant experience in: Public Relations Corporate Communications Journalism (with strong BFSI exposure) Mandatory experience handling BFSI clients in a PR agency or in-house role.
