The Role:

The Head - Reefer Vehicle Procurement & Supply will own the identification, sourcing, procurement, and availability of small and medium-sized reefer vehicles required for AbleCold's rapidly growing operations.

The role will involve building a strong market network of vehicle owners, fleet operators, transporters, and other supply partners; negotiating competitive commercial terms; and ensuring that the right vehicles are available at the right location and time.

This is a highly hands-on, market-facing role and is critical to AbleCold's ability to scale its transportation business while maintaining service reliability and healthy margins.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the end-to-end reefer vehicle procurement and supply strategy across cities and key lanes.

- Build and scale a strong network of vehicle owners, fleet operators, transporters, brokers, and supply partners.

- Identify and develop new sources of vehicle supply to ensure consistent capacity and reduce supply risks.

- Lead negotiations on freight rates, lease rentals, contracts, minimum guarantees, and commercial terms.

- Determine the right mix of spot, contracted, leased, and dedicated vehicle capacity.

- Ensure timely vehicle placement, availability, and service reliability against operational requirements.

- Track market rates, supplier performance, cancellations, availability, and procurement costs.

- Drive procurement savings, transportation economics, and contribution margin improvement.

- Establish supplier performance standards, governance, and regular performance reviews.

- Work closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Leadership to plan capacity and address supply gaps.

- Build scalable procurement processes, MIS/dashboards, and supplier management mechanisms.

- Build and lead the procurement & supply team as the function scales.

Requirements:

- 8 - 10 years of experience in transport procurement, fleet sourcing, logistics, 3PL, fleet management, or vehicle supply.

- Strong experience in market-based commercial vehicle procurement; reefer/cold-chain experience is highly preferred.

- Strong network of vehicle owners, transporters, fleet operators, brokers, and aggregators.

- Proven expertise in commercial negotiations, freight rates, lane economics, and supplier management.

- Experience managing multi-city/multi-lane vehicle supply.

- Strong commercial, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

- Demonstrated ability to build supplier networks and processes from scratch.

- Highly hands-on, execution-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

- Willingness to travel extensively across markets.
