- Understands the project requirements and accordingly devise FTO/Patentability/Portfolio strategies.
- Provides support to identify critical patent hurdles, patent monitoring updates, key prosecution timelines.

- Keeps abreast of changes in Patent laws/Patent Databases etc. that affect responsibility areas.
- Identifies basic patent issues related to assigned matter.
- Assists more experienced managers in resolving patent issues on cross-functional projects.

Core Job Responsibilities:
- Provides patent support for Freedom to Operate (FTO) assessments across both Indian and global markets.
- Supports local, cross-regional, and global initiatives by responding to patent intelligence requests and project needs.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in a wide range of scientific and commercial patent databases, including SciFinder, ARK Patent Intelligence, TotalPatent, and various free country-specific patent databases.
- Develops FTO and patent strategies based on a thorough understanding of the product, ensuring timely and relevant insights.
- Contributes to patent analysis for in-licensing and distribution agreements, including tracking of key blocking patents and applications, and providing strategic advice.
- Performs comprehensive patent analyses including FTO, landscape studies, prior art searches, and patentability assessments, and prepares detailed reports.
- Supports patent drafting and prosecution activities, including coordination and documentation with external law firms.
- Collaborates with R&D and business teams to facilitate FTO evaluations, IP due diligence, and global patent prosecution efforts.
- Resolves patent-related issues for assigned matters and contributes to the development of patent risk mitigation strategies for global and cross-regional projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
- Postgraduate in Pharmacy/science.
Preferred Qualification:
- Registered Indian Patent Agent.
- Experienced in handling patent matters for both developed markets (U.S/Europe) and emerging regions.
- Strong technical foundation in the pharmaceutical domain, with deep understanding of APIs and dosage forms.
- Proficient in utilizing a wide range of patent search databases, including SciFinder, ARK Patent Intelligence, TotalPatent, and various free country-specific platforms.
- Skilled in devising FTO and patent strategies tailored to product specifics, ensuring timely and actionable insights.
- Experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and skill development.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, supporting efficient documentation and presentation of patent-related work.
