Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Trade Finance professional with strong exposure to Precious Metals / Commodity Trading to manage and structure financing solutions supporting the company's physical bullion and precious metals trading activities.
The role will work closely with Trading, Treasury, Finance, Operations, Compliance and external banking / financial partners to ensure efficient funding and execution of commodity transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end trade finance activities supporting physical precious metals transactions.
- Structure and manage LCs, SBLCs, guarantees, import / export finance, commodity finance and working capital facilities.
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions and trade finance providers and negotiate financing terms.
- Coordinate facility drawdowns, repayments, rollovers, utilisation and financing costs.
- Evaluate financing requirements against underlying commodity trades, purchase / sale contracts, inventory and receivables.
- Monitor facility limits, collateral, covenants, maturity dates and repayment schedules.
- Work closely with Trading and Treasury teams to align trade flows, funding requirements and liquidity.
- Support financing of physical gold and precious metals purchases, including coordination with suppliers, refineries, logistics providers and buyers.
- Review trade documentation including invoices, purchase / sale contracts, bills of lading, certificates, warehouse documents and other underlying trade documents.
- Ensure transactions comply with applicable KYC, AML, sanctions, responsible sourcing and internal risk requirements.
- Monitor counterparty and transaction risks and escalate potential issues appropriately.
- Maintain accurate reporting on facility utilisation, outstanding exposures, cash flows and financing costs.
- Identify opportunities to optimise funding structures and reduce financing costs.
- Work with internal Finance, Risk, Compliance and Operations teams to ensure smooth transaction execution.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5 - 10 years of experience in Trade Finance, Commodity Finance, Structured Trade Finance or Treasury.
- Strong experience in Precious Metals / Bullion / Commodity Trading is highly preferred.
- Experience dealing directly with banks and financial institutions on trade finance facilities.
- Strong understanding of LCs, SBLCs, guarantees, commodity finance, inventory finance and receivables finance.
- Understanding of physical gold / bullion trading and international commodity flows.
- Good knowledge of trade documentation, KYC / AML and sanctions requirements.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding with excellent Excel and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience in the UAE / Dubai commodity or bullion market would be an advantage.
Education:
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting or related discipline. CA / ACCA / CFA / MBA Finance would be an advantage.
Critical Requirement:
Candidates with a combination of Trade Finance / Commodity Finance experience and direct exposure to physical Precious Metals / Bullion trading will be strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding the underlying metal transaction, assessing its funding requirement and structuring / managing the appropriate financing solution with banks or financial institutions.
