SENIOR MANAGER - BUSINESS FINANCE & FP&A

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a commercially driven finance professional who can connect financial performance with business decisions. This is not a traditional reporting or budgeting role. The individual will work closely with business and operations teams to improve revenue, profitability, asset-level performance and capital efficiency across our flex workspace business.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, commercially astute and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. We value business understanding, ownership and the ability to influence decisions over elaborate presentations and purely corporate finance processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. BUSINESS PLANNING AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

- Drive annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts and periodic business reviews.

- Translate business plans into financial outcomes, identifying key revenue, cost and profitability drivers.

- Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts, investigate variances and drive corrective actions with business teams.

- Develop scenario-based financial models to evaluate business decisions, growth opportunities and downside risks.

2. COMMERCIAL FINANCE AND BUSINESS PARTNERING

- Partner with Sales, Leasing, Revenue Management and Operations teams to improve commercial performance.

- Analyse pricing, occupancy, desk monetisation, revenue per desk, customer mix, discounts and contract economics.

- Evaluate the financial viability of new centres, managed office opportunities, leasing arrangements and enterprise client deals.

- Challenge assumptions, identify revenue leakage and highlight opportunities to improve contribution margins.

- Provide actionable financial inputs to business leaders rather than simply reporting numbers.

3. CENTRE AND PORTFOLIO PROFITABILITY

- Develop a clear understanding of centre-level economics, including occupancy, rental commitments, operating expenses, contribution margins and break-even.

- Track the financial performance of individual centres and the overall portfolio.

- Identify underperforming centres and work with operations and business teams on improvement plans.

- Assess the impact of lease commitments, fit-out investments, ramp-up periods and customer acquisition on returns.

4. COST MANAGEMENT AND CASH FLOW

- Monitor operating expenditure, vendor costs, overheads and controllable costs.

- Support working capital management, cash flow forecasting and capital allocation decisions.

- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising customer experience or operational standards.

- Track business commitments and ensure financial discipline in execution.

5. MANAGEMENT REPORTING AND DECISION SUPPORT

- Build practical dashboards and management reports that highlight the numbers that matter.

- Present clear, fact-based recommendations to senior leadership.

- Establish robust financial tracking mechanisms and improve the quality and reliability of business data.

- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accountability for financial targets and agreed action plans.

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

- CA, CMA, MBA Finance or equivalent qualification, with approximately 6 - 10 years of relevant experience.

- Experience in FP&A, commercial finance, business finance or financial planning roles in a multi-location, asset-heavy or operating business.

- Strong commercial understanding of revenue drivers, unit economics, pricing, profitability and cash flow.

- Ability to move beyond spreadsheets and engage directly with business teams to understand what is happening on the ground.

- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving and evolving business environment where processes may need to be built or improved.

- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information into practical business insights.

- High ownership, sound judgement, intellectual curiosity and the confidence to challenge business assumptions constructively.

RELEVANT INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Experience in flex workspaces, hospitality, retail, QSR, real estate, consumer businesses, logistics or other multi-location operating businesses would be valuable.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You understand that finance is not just about explaining what happened last month. It is about helping the business decide what to do next.

You are comfortable working with business leaders and operating teams, asking difficult questions, getting into the details and driving commercial outcomes. You prefer practical solutions and business impact over process for its own sake.
