KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Select Co Packers (CPs) and maintain good relations:

- Select and appoint CPs basis thorough knowledge of their reputation in the industry along with commercial team.

- Provide inputs to internal audit and corporate quality team for CP level audits, ensuring compliance to the processes.

- Responsible for all fixed cost agreements of the CP with the commercial team. Also responsible for ensuring that all variable costs are minimized to the extent possible (least deviation from budget).

- Plan sourcing of finished goods from CPs including which product and how much quantity is to be sourced from which CP.

- Maintain good relations with the CPs and its owners.

Industry Awareness:

- Maintain good knowledge about the industry and peers, new entrants, new technology and successful CPs.

- Awareness about CPs with new infrastructure facility to produce products which meets Britannia's requirements and helps optimize cost.

Ensure adherence to Quality Norms:

- Ensuring that the CP adheres to the FSSAI quality norms and maintains the records.

- Ensuring that the factory qualifies in the annual audits.

- Work with outsourced agencies to check the quality norms in the factory, analyze any issues and resolve them.

New Product Development:

- Basis the marketing calendar, agree on the NPD calendar and the timelines for the same.

- Manage the development, approval and execution of the capex budget.

- Prepare an action plan for the new product recipe to pass the 7-attribute test (taste, smell, etc.) and devise alternate solutions in case the recipe does not make the cut.

- Basis the final recipe, prepare a recipe cost and maintain a cost benchmark with the marketing team to approve its competitiveness vs peers.

- Endeavour to enhance the shelf life of products while developing a product.

Responsible for cost savings (B-next):

- Responsible for delivering cost saving results through initiatives such as change in packaging material, change of Co packers etc.

End-to-End Recipe Flexibility:

- Adapt recipes to current economic conditions (price, availability, customs) using raw materials available worldwide, always achieving the same organoleptic target and maintaining the core structure of each recipe.

Optimization & Cost Savings:

- Identify, evaluate, and execute recipe choices - such as raw material substitutions or sourcing alternatives - that can generate annual savings of 1 - 2 million Euros.

Database & Budget Management:

- Manage the Group's melted cheese recipes and raw material databases (Allix2), including the creation, coordination, and communication of recipe budget books for all sites.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management:

- Work closely with purchasing teams, supply units, controllers, and master data.

- Centralize and arbitrate decisions related to stock levels, implementation complexity, supply lead times, purchasing gains, and compliance with local regulations.

Raw Material Opportunity Management:

- Identify and secure opportunities for raw material optimization and sourcing - both within the Group and externally - taking account of short- and long-term supply strategies.

People Management:

- Recruits and develops the team as per the organization structure.

- Assigns KRA, plans and monitors performance of subordinates and team, and coaches them on how to improve the same to meet business goals.

- Recommends increments and promotions.

- Identifies and plans for requisite training & development requirements for subordinates and team to help bridge skill gaps.
