Job Title: Sourcing Head Location: Sachin, Surat, Gujarat. Department: Procurement Reports To: Director Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary: The Sourcing Head will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process across multiple plant locations in Gujarat. This role will ensure the timely sourcing of raw materials, chemicals, and other essential supplies for manufacturing operations while maintaining quality standards, cost-efficiency, and supplier relationships. The role will also involve collaborating with the R&D centre to meet sourcing requirements for new and ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Strategy & Planning: - Develop and implement sourcing strategies in alignment with company objectives, quality standards, and cost efficiency. - Oversee sourcing for raw materials, intermediate chemicals, Project materials, and other supplies necessary for production. - Maintain a long-term supplier strategy to ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising quality. Supplier Management: - Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery timelines, and reliability. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers. - Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers for optimal pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. - Monitor supplier performance and ensure they meet company requirements for quality, delivery, and compliance. - Periodically review and monitor MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to avoid under/over procurement, ensuring inventory accuracy. Inventory & Cost Management: - Oversee inventory management to ensure the availability of materials at all times while optimizing storage and reducing stock-outs. - Implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising on quality. - Ensure the efficient procurement of materials to support production schedules, minimizing delays. Monitoring and Follow-up: - Review pending orders and ensure timely follow-up for delivery of materials. - Monitor material approvals and rejections in collaboration with the Quality team. Ensure materials meet quality standards before approval. - In case of rejections, communicate reasons to the vendors and ensure timely replacement of materials. Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, and other departments to meet the sourcing requirements for new products, trials, and production runs. - Work closely with Finance to ensure alignment on budget, payment terms, and purchase order approvals. - Interface with Warehouse to ensure accurate stock levels and material flow. - Collaborate with Legal to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. Market Analysis & Supplier Pipeline: - Stay current on market trends, competitor activities, and developments within the supplier market. - Maintain procurement pipelines with alternative vendors to ensure business continuity and mitigate risk. - Ensure that procurement practices remain in line with corporate standards and industry regulations. Compliance & Risk Management: - Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant local and international regulations, including cGMP , PSCI, SA8000, EcoVedis, IMS, etc standards. - Monitor and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes. - Conduct regular audits of procurement processes to ensure compliance and efficiency. Logistics / Warehouse & Shipment Management: - Monitor shipment schedules and instruct Logistics / Warehouse teams to organize pick-ups and deliveries from supplier locations. - Coordinate with suppliers and logistics / Warehouse teams to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with transport and import/export regulations. Reporting & Analysis: - Oversee the preparation of periodic reports for senior management and the corporate office, covering procurement performance, supplier status, inventory levels, cost savings, and other key procurement metrics. - Use data and market analysis to predict trends and future sourcing requirements. Team Leadership & Development: - Lead and mentor the procurement team to enhance their skills and performance. - Set clear goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with company procurement goals. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the procurement function.
