Company: Ambattur Fashion (Ambattur Group) Role: Sr. Merchandiser / Merchandiser Experience: 5-10 years Location: Chennai (Ambattur Industrial Estate) Tags/Keywords: Merchandising, Costing, Samples, Production Follow-up, Buyer Communication, Trims/Fabrics Approvals, Shipment Scheduling, Apparel Manufacturing Role Overview: Own end-to-end merchandising for export apparel programs-buyer communication, costing, samples, RM approvals, production handover, factory follow-ups, and shipment planning-ensuring on-time delivery and quality adherence. Key Responsibilities: - Correspond with buyers on package dates, costing, and sample availability. - Prepare, update, and compile cost sheets. - Review samples (construction, fall, fit, drape, wash) before dispatch; share R&D comments. - Ensure raw materials and style approvals are secured in time to meet package dates. - Maintain Delay Schedule; share for ratification and documentation. - Prepare production package (checklist, pattern mini-marker, approved sample with comments). - Create/hand over full production file (fabric/trim swatches, spec sheets, comments, wash standards, emb/print swatches) to PPC after review. - Attend pre-production meetings with factory/Production Manager. - Review factory production weekly (preferably Wednesday post-lunch). - Send shipment schedules to Commercial (preferably Thursday). - Update all departments on confirmed orders. - Sign off approvals for fabric and trims. - Conduct weekly review of production chart and share feedback. - Check & approve trims swatch card post PPC review. Skills & Qualifications: - MBA preffered and UG from tier 1 or 2 college. - Strong buyer communication and cross-functional coordination (PPC/Commercial/Factory/R&D). - Expertise in costing, sample/fit/wash reviews, trims & fabric approvals, and shipment planning. - Detail-oriented with robust follow-through on production milestones and documentation.
