Rashmi Group founded in 1966 really got impetus from its real promoter, a true visionary, Sri Sajjan Kumar Patwari. The group has grown from merely a re-rolling mill to a full fledged Cement Crushing Plant having capacity of 2 lakh tonnes per annum at Jhargram in West Bengal. In addition to this, the Group also has a Sponge Iron Plant with a capacity of 1.5 lakh t.p.a. at Jhargram, 25 MW Captive Power Plant and a Mini Blast Furnace Plant of 2 lakh t.p.a.at Kharagpur in West Bengal. Rashmi Group is presently in the process of capacity addition in backward/forward Integration to achieve the ultimate capacity of 2 million t.p.a at Kharagpur. The Group is setting up another 2.5 million t.p.a Steel Plant and 500 MW power plant at Jamuria, Dist.-Burdwan in West Bengal.
Production of Pig Iron had started in May 2007. The Group has been technologically driven with special emphasis on quality. Its Cement Plant at Jhargram had been accredited with the certificate of ISO 9001:2000 DNV, Netherlands.
