Core Competency :

- Technical Product owner : Ability to develop execute on the product vision, balance business requirements with IT initiatives as a Product owner.

- Provide leadership, manage execution and delivery of projects and transformation programs independently;

- Work closely with the Tech teams in ensuring a successful and timely implementation of technical requirements;

- Ability to understand Solution architecture, Provide technical support in business engagements, solution presentations, and technical translations of business requirements.

Technical Competency :

- Familiarity with latest tech stack & trends in banking domain including Cloud adoption (AWS), Data migration strategy, Front to back Tech integration etc. Understanding and basic usage of SQL

- Experience working with Agile / Scrum work environment as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, or similar role: Writing EPIC, Features, User stories and following the development process through user story acceptance.

Preferred Competency :

- Some experience managing operations teams in Retail banking domain

- Ability to build value propositions and communicating with various level stakeholders.

- You have the ability and aptitude to think innovatively and drive change within the business team

What will you be doing?

- Managing resources effectively, challenging them where appropriate and actively supporting them in the delivery and resolution of variations if necessary. Supporting the implementation of resilient, scalable solutions across Operations

- Partner with Technology stakeholders (such as Engineers, Architects) and stakeholders within Operations &Technology to coordinate strategies and technology investment recommendations

- Ensuring that planned programs deliver agreed outcomes and the outcome remains relevant, and course correct where required; Collaborate with partners across Operations and Technology in developing and implementing of solutions (Concept till End to End Solution)

- Being a source of expertise for the team, through coaching, leveraging knowledge and expertise across functional domain within the organization

What we're looking for :

- Building an effective control environment by Championing colleagues' understanding and adherence to the risk and control framework within which the bank must operate, and takes accountability for ensuring this. Accountable for ensuring that processes, risks and controls are applied in way that achieves a good outcome for the bank and its customers/clients

- Commercial awareness - Ability to understand banking businesses/products, including current state and strategy. You understand wider industry service offerings and current trends, and are able to opine in a Barclays context

- Financial management Comprehend financial planning processes, agreeing budgets for change initiatives before developing a granular view of costs versus agreed outcomes and timings. This includes being cost/value aware, tracking costs versus budget, reforecasting when necessary, explaining variances and identifying risks. For programmes and portfolios, this includes monitoring aggregated cost profiles against budget, balancing under/over spend as appropriate

- Policy awareness Being able to comprehend complex organization, understands the function and the Group policies to which is must adhere. Understands how policies are upheld by controls within and outside the function

- Relationship management Build strong relationship across business clients, external vendors and all functional levels within the bank. Creates and maintains a culture in which trust and mutual respect are valued, challenging people and systems that do not support this. Ability to influence strategies and conveys a strong vision to achieve results and obtain buy-in across the organization.

- Risk management and governance Ability to identify and monitor risks and issues, to plan and implement appropriate responses for mitigation or resolution, including escalations, progressed at pace to avoid unnecessary delays. This includes following the relevant governance, policies and standards relevant to the activity and using the appropriate tooling

- Stakeholder and communications management Effectively communicate, influence and manage stakeholders at all levels, taking account of their levels of influence and interest. This includes identifying, addressing and resolving differences between individuals and/or interest groups, using suitable channels for achieving clear outcomes, consensus and conflict resolution

- Strategy Being able to understand business strategy, thereby create, refine and challenge patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements.

Skills that will help you in the role :

- Client Services Ability to provide an excellent customer/client experience, underpinned by a lean cost base, strong controls and a culture of collaboration, innovation and high performance. Very strong strategic vision.

- Should have the ability to analyze large volumes of data to identify specific trends and insights. You are able to understand this information and effectively interpret and communicate with key stakeholders and non tech colleagues, also acting upon these insights in planning activity

- Real world architecture experience in banking / financial services is essential with significant practical experience of defining and implementing enterprise wide technical solutions

- Exposure and experience in Technology Architectures including Contact Centre product architectures e.g. Avaya/ Amazon Connect, CUCM, Omni Channel capabilities, Core Voice, Workforce Management and Agent Desktops, Network, Infrastructure designs, distributed technologies, cloud, micro-services, messaging, APIs, Data transformation, ETL, Monitoring tools, Architecture for Salesforce

- Knowledge of relevant technologies at the core/internals levels in order to perform in Subject Matter Expert role

- Support evaluation of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
