JOB DESCRIPTION PUBLIC POLICY SPECIALIST Job Description Are you someone who understands all things Public Policy as well as Economy at the Macro level? Shangrila Corporate Services is looking for a Public Policy Specialist to conduct research, analysis and development on all things related to Global Trade and Commerce especially the predominant Trade and Commerce Routes connecting India to the World. The role will focus on analyzing past and existing policies and then create a framework for policy for the next 5/10/20 Years. The role is expected to create Research White Papers on topics related to Trade and Commerce originating out of India. The suitable candidate will play a critical role in conceptualizing new research initiatives, executing the plan for research to create a white paper on the above mentioned topics. The role will be based at GTO office in Mumbai. Responsibilities: - Work closely with SCS leadership to understand the pertinent questions being faced by India's Global Trade &amp; Commerce domain and find answers to these questions through Research White Papers. - Conduct research (Both Primary &amp; Secondary) on existing and past policies through the eyes of various stakeholders to under what works and what doesn- t. - Lead Trade Research to create the content and Research White Paper library. Create a repository of Knowledge Thought Leadership in the domain of Global Trade - Capture and develop Intellectual Property Qualifications: - 5-10 Yrs of relevant experience working in national politics, government, think tanks, non-profit, or corporate public policy. - Policy experience Trade, Commerce or any other Economic Sector. - Ability to write and translate complex issues into a language suitable for technical and non-technical audiences. - Ability to interact comfortably at all levels of seniority - Proven report writing, verbal and written communication and presentation skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to cope with pressure and challenges - Financially numerate - Strong interpersonal skills - Strong team working skills - High process and detail orientation - Resourceful, reliant, energetic and persuasive character Company Background &amp; Culture: Shangrila Corporate Services (SCS) is a leading advisory firm in the domain of Foreign Trade Policy of India.
