Quantitative Research (QR) is an expert quantitative modeling group in J.P. Morgan, as well as a leader in financial engineering, data analytics, statistical modeling and portfolio management. As a global team, QR partners with traders, marketers and risk managers across all products and regions, contributes to sales and client interaction, product innovation, valuation and risk management, inventory and portfolio optimization, electronic trading and market making, and appropriate financial risk controls.

Opportunity:

- We are looking for an experienced strat to join our Markets Portfolio Management (MPM) team in Mumbai. This group is part of the global Quantitative Research Group.

- The MPM QR team's mission is to develop and maintain sophisticated mathematical models, cutting-edge methodologies and infrastructure to manage the Markets Portfolio across all the asset classes. We develop our own analytics and mathematical models that add value to the business and/or help improve the efficiency of our colleagues worldwide. We work closely with our Technology and business partners to deliver our solutions in production.

- You will be a part of the team that is helping to transform business practices through automation and quantitative methods where JP Morgan is a dominant player.

Your Impact:

- You'll contribute to the strategic agenda to transform our investment bank into a data-led business and drive change through innovation and business process optimization using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. Specially, you'll have the chance to:

- Drive projects end-to-end, from brainstorming, prototyping, data processing, data analysis to model development.

- Contribute directly to the business and client franchise; identify and generate revenue opportunities;

- Develop and deliver analytics that help transforming the business and contributing to the automation agenda.

- Implement and deliver quantitative models and/or data analytics that generate business value.

- Present QR work to key stakeholders.

- Partner with Technology to deliver QR analytics to the business.

About You:

- You demonstrate quantitative and problem-solving skills as well as research skills;

- You have excellent practical data analytics skills on real data sets gained through hands-on experience, including familiarity with methods for working with large data and tools for data analysis (pandas, numpy, scikit, TensorFlow)

- You demonstrate experience applying statistical and/or machine learning techniques in the financial industry

- You are familiar with tools and methods of exploratory data analysis, visualization and modeling in Python e.g., pandas, scipy, sklearn, Jupyter

- You quickly grasp business concepts outside immediate area of expertise and adapt to rapidly changing business needs;

- You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, can engage and influence partners and stakeholders.

- You are enthusiastic about knowledge sharing and collaboration

- You think strategically and creatively when faced with problems and opportunities. You always look for - new ways of doing things;

Desirables:

- Advanced degree (PhD, MSc or equivalent) in Probability theory, Statistics, Mathematical Finance or Engineering.; Relevant academic research publications a plus;

- Understanding of risk drivers in derivative products.

- Familiarity with data engineering / orchestration systems
