Director - Anti Infringement (AI) for One of the Agri Industry Associations (herein after called as - Association- ) Job Location: Hyderabad The Director Anti Infringement is a full time employee of ASSOCIATION, appointed for such terms and conditions as the Board may decide. The Director AI is responsible for running the day to day actions with stakeholders in Governments and their Agencies, Legal experts, Members of the association and others. The Director (AI) will report to the Executive Director and to Head of the AI Special Interest Group within ASSOCIATION. Roles and responsibilities of Director (AI). (i) to undertake proactive interest and measures in keeping on top of the day to day matters that are taking place in the relevant Ministries of the Central Government and State Governments and undertake aggressive and effective outreach to the officials concerned in a timely manner to ensure effective implementation of the PPV&amp;FR and for quick action against violators of IP of the members. (ii) Policy Advocacy. Builds good rapport with different key personnel in the Central and State Governments and their bodies. Represent effectively the views of the SIG (AI) of ASSOCIATION in various meetings being conducted by the Government and to establish ASSOCIATION as a thought leader in the area of PVP, Patents, IP of plants and traits, enforcement of law and Anti Infringement of the IP of agri industry . Creates positive impact on the policies of the Government representing the objectives of ASSOCIATION. (iii) Keeping continuous track of various circulars of Government and Regulatory bodies, changes being made in legal framework that governs the IP of agri and agri technology industry and matters of interest to the association. (iv) To be a repository of the latest developments in the field of Agri and Agri Technology around the world, method of IP protection in different parts of the world, the IP related policies and issues of the agri industry in India and to be able to converse with knowledge, conviction and passion. (v) To maintain a register of information of the new product launches and IP protected products of members, maintain a bank of the DNA fingerprints of all the products of members. (vi) On receipt of information from a member about an infringement, lead an investigation into it with the help of the company and concerned government agencies, help the member in taking police action and/or legal action against the violators. Act as a facilitator of actions by the company against the violator, using the knowledge acquired from government policies, legal framework, International best practices and other relevant information. (v) Prepares all the responses and representations to the Government on behalf of ASSOCIATION &amp; SIG (AI) in a timely manner, gets them cleared internally before submission and follows up on such submissions to create a positive impact on the thinking process in the Government. (vi) Internal Communication among all the member companies on a continuous basis on all matters of importance related to the matters with Government and its bodies and changes taking place in the external environment. (vii) Budget Management and Administration. Preparation of annual budgets for his/her function, getting them approved by the Management Committee and the Board and controlling the actual expenditure as per budgets. (viii) Forming alliances on behalf of ASSOCIATION with other organizations including end user industries and undertaking joint activities and campaigns as needed. (ix) Organizing conferences / meetings / round tables on IP matters on behalf of SIG (AI) of ASSOCIATION. Also attend important seminars/meetings on IP matters on behalf of ASSOCIATION to keep up with the latest developments and knowledge. (x) Managing relationships with CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, Diplomatic channels and other external stakeholders as relevant to the work of Anti Infringement. Also managing relationships with the Legal and Regulatory Managers of member companies. (xi) External communications as the face of ASSOCIATION on IP matters - media interactions and other communications Desired Qualifications: 1. At least a Post Graduate in related field 2. Understanding and experience with the intricacies of the issues of agri industry 3. Understanding of the regulatory organizations, Acts and processes of agri industry 4. Good communication skills, ability to work in teams, good inter personal relationships, ability to work with Government and regulatory officials, police, lawyers, courts and other stakeholders. 5. Ability to travel quickly as required and result oriented action. 6. Quick to grasp issues, articulate, draft letters, position papers and other documents 7. Good leadership qualities. Preference given to Retired Senior Police Officer.
