DGM - Plant HR with a Major Agri Chemical manufacturing company in Goa.

Location - Goa

Plant Strength - 1500+

Experience Required - 20-25 yrs with hard core exposure in Plant IR functions including handling Trade Unions, Litigations & LTS.

Qualification - MBA HR or MSW

Job Responsibilities

S No. Area of Responsibility Description of Responsibility

1. Manpower Planning & Budgeting - Achieving manpower optimization and productivity by establishing manpower planning, budgeting, reviewing progress.

2. Talent Acquisition - Increasing management's effectiveness by recruiting and selecting right talent, at right time in right place

- Succession planning for various Functional Heads and identifying & internal developing / outside hiring of right Successors.

3. Orientation and Learning & Development - Facilitating and orienting quality training & developmental programmes for the employees, coaching, counseling, developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.

4. Industrial Relations, & Disciplining - Maintains and creates atmosphere of peace & harmony in the organization. Addresses employee grievances timely and if required recommends Management on initiatives to be taken for resolving such grievances. Deals with the Employee / Labour Unions, negotiates to safeguard interest of the Management and Employees.

- Maintains good relationship with Management, employees and Government officials and the local community.

- Provides professional counseling and coaching to correct inappropriate behavior of employees, handles employees- misconducts for disciplining them through disciplinary actions, facilitates domestic enquiries, etc.

- Assists and supports Management during negotiations with Unions and facilitates the process to arrive at amicable solution and signing memorandum of understanding and long term wage settlements. Assists in the execution of wage settlements from time to time

5. Management of Litigations - Manages and monitors court / legal matters involving labour and industrial laws and actively interacts with Company advocates and legal counsel for briefing as and when required.

- Represents Management in industrial disputes in various Government Forums, viz., Conciliation Proceedings, Labour Courts & Industrial Tribunals, etc. Advises and supports line managers in civil and / or criminal litigations in various courts and provides guidance as and when needed.

- Assists in the development of the strategy for mitigating litigations and facilitates settlement of cases as per Company's expectations.

6. Statutory Compliances - Leads the Labour law compliances for the Plant / Unit and ensures statutory compliances across the Plant / Unit on all Labour statutes. Ensures timely filing of Returns and maintenance of all statutory records & registers, display of notices & abstracts of applicable laws, etc. Advises Management on important amendments in Labour laws to safeguard the interests of the organization.

7. Contract Labour Management

- Ensures proper management of Contract Labour through the Contractors and statutory compliances by the Contractors. Ensures implementation of Contract Labour (R&A) Act, 1970 and advises line management on optimum utilization of contract Labour

8. Employee Welfare - Ensuring employee welfare measures/schemes,

- Providing effective security provisions including Plant & Township, providing quality of work life, healthy living facilities.

- Providing healthcare.

9. Wage & Salary / Compensation & Benefits (Time Office/Payroll Management) - Ensure proper implementation of C&B policy.
