Deputy General Manager - Legal - Cement Industry

- More focus on handling Land matters

- Handling recoveries and court matters

- Responsible for provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks

- Review ongoing cases and suggest management accordingly

- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken

- Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures

- Review and draft contracts, agreements and and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.

- Review progress of outstanding litigation and cost impact

- Formulate compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.

- Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.

- Review all contracts or any other documentation where the Company has committed and assess legal implications

- Negotiate, review and draft documentation for business

- Liaison with govt. and local authorities like mines, irrigation, civil, criminal, electrical, municipality

- Assisting HR in labour cases

- Drafting Agreements

- In-depth knowledge of regulatory law

- Direct / Indirect taxation

- Risk assessment and management

- Labour laws, Corporate laws

- Laws applicable to factories

- Communication skills ( written and oral, local language )

- Initiating and decision making

- Cost analysis impact

- Should know to read write and speak Kannada

Qualification : LLB / Masters degree in law

Experience : 15 to 18 years post qualification out of this 2 to 3 yrs experience in drafting, litigation and court practice
