Deputy General Manager/General Manager - Purchase - Masterbatch/Chemicals

Client of Career Management Services is a Leading Color & Additive Masterbatch and Polymer Compound Manufacturers in India.

Job purpose

- Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies

- Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

- Ensuring zero stock-outs at Plant level

3. Basic Qualifications

Education - Desired: B.Com/M.Com./Diploma in Supply Chain Management

- Preference: BE, BSc or Diploma in Chemical or Polymer

Skills & Knowledge :

Necessary :

- Knowledge of the Company product line

- Knowledge of Raw materials and their sources

- Knowledge of Applicable Laws and Regulations, their compliances

- Knowledge of Market, Territory

- Knowledge of Strategy Formation and Implementation

- Business acumen

- Persuasion Skills

- Negotiation Skills

- Communication Skills

- Interpersonal Skills

- Leadership Skills

- Decision making Skills

Preferred :

- Knowledge of technical Specifications of Raw Materials, their impact on final products

Experience :

- Experience in the local/import purchase of Chemical/Plastic/Master Batch manufacturing of at least 12 to 15 years

Competencies :

- Relationship Building & Networking

- Vendor Management

- Knowledge of SAP (Not a prerequisite)

Language requirements :

- English, Hindi and local language(preferable) / Professional memberships

4. Roles and Responsibilities :

- Reduce raw material costs through effective negotiations with suppliers

- Develop new suppliers to achieve lower costs or to improve existing quality

- Ensure optimum inventory levels of all the raw materials in all the plants

- Improve systems for effective monitoring of supplier performance
