Role and Responsibilities : - Should have worked on and have sound understanding of preparation of workings and monthly and annual returns for VAT / CST / Excise & GST as well as audit report, - Detailed scrutiny/examination of notices/letters/appeals, including show-cause cum demand notices issued by tax authorities related to GST laws, Customs laws and the erstwhile laws concerned with Central Excise ,Service Tax matters, VAT, CST and Entry tax on Pan-India basis - Wherever required, visiting offices of various departmental officers for complying with various notices /letters etc. - Liaison/collaborating with Legal Counsels / Tax experts engaged by the company for any tax related issues - Drafting/finalising replies to aforesaid notices/letters, submissions to be made in course of adjudication and other proceedings and attending Personal Hearing scheduled in the matters. - Keeping track of the cases pending adjudication or appeal at various authorities and ensuring updation of records maintained for tracking litigation disputes either thru Litigation Portal or offline worksheets by concerned officer/team. - Validating / preparing disclosures made for Contingent Liability in financial statement or for any other purpose, sought in course of any proceedings or for MIS - Supervising the administrative activities rendered in course of above assignments such as tracking of Bonds/Bank Guarantees, arranging PoA/Letter of Authorisation, attending to Bills raised by Counsels and Vendors for various databases or similar services required in tax matters - Render due support on representing issues before tax authorities directly or through external consultant as maybe required, - Handled State Commercial Taxes (VAT /CST and other taxes) Assessments and Litigations. - Above role involves frequent travel across India. Preferred Industries : Manufacturing / FMCG Industry Critical Experience and skills - Sound Knowledge of Law & Procedure related to GST, Customs, Excise & Service Tax and State Commercial Taxes including expert understanding of rules/principles in Classification of Goods/Services, SAP Systems & processes, Finance & Accounting principles - Exceptional understanding/ Interpretation of Laws, reading of documents, Excellent drafting skillsets, Communication and IT skills. - Analytical Thinking - Working knowledge of Excel and word - Should be able to multitask and possess behavioural attributes like working across boundaries and also be a team player Travel - Extensive travel, 12-15 days in a month
