PROFILE: We are hiring this role for a new Venture Capital firm that is in the process of raising a new fund. An exciting and varied position, the Associate will work out of the firm's Bangalore office, supporting the partners. Motivated and enthusiastic self-starter who works on own initiative with light supervision. Confident and positive, high-energy, capable of easily interacting with senior management. Flexible and willing to get involved in many different aspects of the business as required. RESPONSIBILITIES : During the fund raise, the primary responsibilities will include: - Extensive market research to help identify new market trends and investment opportunities, - Writing investment thesis, research reports, blogs. - Preparation of high quality slides and decks - Financial modelling, analytics - Network with peers in other VC Firms and investment forums. Post fund raise, the responsibilities will expand to include deal screening, calls and meetings with prospects, evaluating opportunities, and performing due diligence. Work will include: - Gather information from the target company and industry experts - Research and talk to existing references and customers of the target company - Research potential competitors to the target company - Research and talk with technical/business consultants to evaluate the target company's technology including IPs - Conduct background checks on the current management of the target company - Perform valuation analysis via modelling - Help preparing internal investment memos Requirements: Required Skills and Experience: - MBA from a top business school preferred - Engineering or CS Undergrad or equivalent experience - 2-4 years of experience in a VC / PE, investment bank or top consulting firm - Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated - Strong knowledge of tools and modelling methods on Excel and other similar apps - Experience with cash flow modeling and investment valuation techniques - Ability to produce well designed professional looking Powerpoint presentations - Strong written and verbal communication skills
