JOB : Business Control AM/DM

SUPV. TITLE : Manager Business Controls

PURPOSE OF THE JOB :

Responsibility for appropriate financial control environment and application of key financial controls for all functions at the Restaurant Support Centre and all stores. Owner of equity and franchisee store audit programmes.

JOB SIZE : Provide quantitative data such as # of restaurants/markets, sales, budgets, etc. Indicate size of operations for which job is responsible. Indicate domestic/worldwide accountability.

Organizations Supported : YRI - India and Area countries (Mauritius, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh)

Indian Sub Continent Revenues : System sales US$ 150 Million

Number of Restaurants : 300

JOB FUNCTIONS :

- Participating in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing of books

- Perform detailed analysis and tracking of results to understand business performance, reasons for actual versus plan results

- Accurate and timely accounting and reporting including :

- Accurate accounting so as to ensure there are - no surprises-

- Review of monthly head office expenses provisioning

- Monthly close meetings with LT members/department representatives on G&A.

Policies, Procedures and Controls :

- Develop and maintain above-store and in-store level policies and procedures.

- Ensure compliance with Corporate Authorization and accounting policies

- Responsibility for evaluating and improving internal controls.

- Drive a process-oriented approach and a culture of compliance within the Control / Finance function
 
Play Lead role in the internal audit conducted by Yum! corporate :

- Proactively drive actions to ensure that set controls / processes are being adhered to.

- Resolution of internal auditor queries and carrying out implementation of improvements.

- Carry out Franchisee Audits & ensure implementation of actionables.

- Responsibility for store audits

- Develop & update store financial controls manual & its integration with DC/Ops training programs.

- Act as a liaison between Ops / Stores and Control; be the voice of - Control- for Ops. Gain a deep understanding of store level Control / finance issues

- Implement best practices in-store financial management (eg, cash pick-ups, petty cash delivery, voucher policy etc)

- Develop and manage an appropriate store audit program

- Perform some store audits

- Project Support for New Initiatives.

- Other duties as advised by Financial Controller and CFO.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS :

- YRI India Leadership Team

- RGM's

- All RSC functions with particular focus on Operations

- Franchisees

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:

EDUCATION: BCom; ACA (1st time passes)

EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):

- Minimum 2 - 5 years overall business experience, preferably in a Multinational FMCG or Retail Company

- Experience in assurance/advisory roles in Big 4 Accounting firms preferred.

- Strong track record of internal promotion within previous organization(s)

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Great team player

- Strong process orientation and systems ability.

- Maturity and credibility to influence business stakeholders

- High integrity

- Ability to travel to support the store audit programme
