JOB REQUISITES

Role Summary

We are looking for a passionate certified Data Analyst to analyse large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our operations and business services. The role requires skills to build data products and extract valuable business insights.

This role requires good understanding of the business processes and data produced by them and to know how to analyse system requirements, implement migration methods and perform data mining on existing data. Familiarisation with predictive analysis and data visualization techniques using relevant tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R.) is a must.

This role requires highly analytical skills with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are seen as minimum essentials for interpreting data.

Responsibilities

- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs and propose solutions and strategies to business challenges

- Analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data

- Clean- data by reviewing performance indicators to locate and correct code problems

- Create and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

- Analyse structural requirements and advise data architecture for new software and applications development by collaborating with engineering and product development teams

- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and identify valuable data sources to automate collection processes

- Where essential propose migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions

- Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts Present information using data visualization techniques

- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms

Key Competencies / Skills

- Proven work experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist or similar role

- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.) and programming skills (XML, R, Javascript, Python). Scala and C++ will be an asset.

- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)

- Experience using business intelligence and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Qualifications

- Masters in Computer Science/Statistics/Maths/Information Technology

- Relevant domain certifications

- Experience in the range of 4-7 years.
