Xperia has been retained by a MNC client who is looking to expand its Global Strategy team in India.

With a fast growing portfolio of workplace projects in the region, the client is looking for talented, motivated and energetic Strategists to join the clients Strategy team in Mumbai, India.

- The role of a Strategist is seen as the conduit between business and design, you will need to be able to engage with leaders of organizations and discuss business drivers as well as work cohesively with the design team to translate those business goals into design solutions.

- Your role will be working on medium to large scale workplace projects to assist in the development of a workplace brief and ongoing engagement and co-creation with the client team.

- You will be conducting interviews, workshops, quantitative & qualitative studies in the client's offices to understand their business, culture and workspace.

- Your role is then to translate these findings into design solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the organization.

Your role may include brief development, space planning, staff engagement and project co-ordination.

Particular skills required to fulfil this position include:

1. Business acumen and ability to understand key issues and drivers for business decisions

2. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

3. Research & analytical skills in both quantitative and qualitative data

4. Ability to present all findings & analysis through engagements & well-structured documents

5. Ability to listen and engage with people at all levels of an organization

6. Leadership & Co-ordination skills with an understanding of project & space planning parameters

7. Creativity and ability to think outside the box.

- Potential Competencies and Definitions for Workplace Strategist:

- Organizational Analysis: Observe, evaluate, and understand organizational functions, practices, and processes to gain insight into work environments, systems and workplace systems.

- Human Behavior Analysis: Employ a systematic approach to observing, evaluating, and understanding how workers and work teams' interact, and the resources required to optimize those interactions.

- Data Analytics: Categorize, describe, and analyze any workforce data and information resulting in useable knowledge that informs workspace design.

- Strategic Planning & Alignment: Observe, evaluate and understand the client organization's overall strategic direction (e.g. talent acquisition plans, strategic goals and business practices) to inform space needs.

- The following are relevant Architect / Planner / Designer competencies that could effectively work in the role of a Workplace Strategist.

Information Processing: Obtains and integrates information to create a solid understanding of the clients' needs, identifying key problem elements (e.g. spatial constraints).

Trend Monitoring and Awareness: Understands and keeps up-to-date on local, national, and international design trends that affect client recommendations and decisions.

Visualization: Imagines how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.

Visual Display/Illustration: Represents a proposed solution in a visual medium that is understandable to clients conveying how equipment, devices, or structures are to be constructed, modified or used.

Spatial Orientation: Possesses strong space planning skills and can identify the most efficient way to arrange a space.

Leadership / Engagement: Has the ability to connect with Clients at all levels & lead them into structured discussions that are relevant to their business & the design of their workplace & culture.

Experience and interest in change management is also highly desirable.
