Role : Senior Group Manager - Risk Management
Job Description :
- Managing, planning, developing and execution of the Operational Risk Management and Audit framework for the organization's Insurance Business Unit.
Location : Mumbai
Travel Requirement : Yes (should hold valid passport)
Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead the Operation Risk Management & Audit function for the insurance operation vertical covering risk management, audit and compliance detailed below:
Operation Risk Management :
- Manage the risk management framework for WNS client operations
- Develop, identify and evaluate Business Unit-level strategic and operational risks
- Evaluate internal processes / controls and update risk registers
- Gather and analyze risk-related data from internal and / or external resources
- Liaise with risk owners across the BU and client risk owners and monitor risk indicators
- Publish periodic risk dashboards, reports etc for internal and external stakeholders
- Follow-up for implementation of controls for key risks within timelines & escalate overdue issues
- Review the existing risk framework and recommend changes to risk assessment / review / monitoring methodologies
- Identify and evaluate process / transaction risks relating to existing and prospective clients
- Represent the Operation Risk Management & Audit team at internal and client governance meetings
Operational Audit :
- Manage the internal audit program for the Insurance Business Unit
- Design scope of audit assignments covering internal controls and policy guidelines basis the risk management activity for the business unit
- Plan audit assignments considering time and effort estimation
- Execute and manage the audit assignment by performing field-work and following the planned audit approach
- Evaluate internal processes and controls, and prepare audit reports with value added recommendations to management and audit committees
- Follow-up for implementation of controls for key risks within timelines & escalate overdue issues
- Liaise with external auditors to co-ordinate and discuss audit assignments, issues and audit observations
- Ensure that internal audit team is properly supervised, performs audit/investigatory work with planned approach and within agreed time frames
- Represent the Operation Risk Management & Audit team at internal and client governance meetings
Compliance :
- Plan, supervise and execute the compliance review Programme in line with the Business Unit's requirement
- Conduct awareness drives with the assistance of compliance SPOCs & Operations Teams
- Coordinate key reviews that are conducted by clients and external auditors.
- Point of contact for all regulatory communications across processes
- Point of contact for regulatory/compliance related requests by clients
- Point of contact for all audits across the Business Unit
Academic Qualification : Chartered Accountancy
Professional Qualification :
- 6-8 years experience in risk management and/or audit, with a minimum 3 year experience in Operational / Transaction Risk Management
- Independent, analytical and positive mind, excellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to deal with people in different levels including senior management
- Knowledge of international regulators e.g. US, UK, Australian regulatory frameworks (e.g. Fed, FCA, APRA etc) will be an added benefit
- Conversant with risk-based audit approach, risk assessments and have flair for developing/using risk monitoring models and tools
- Good presentation and report writing skills
- Command over MS Excel, Word and Power Point
