WNS - Consultant - Cognos

This Position would be based onsite and would require excellent communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

- Interface with business partners within various teams of the client's functional & operational areas to understand and document the business process, business needs and detailed requirements around data analytics & Business Intelligence (BI)

- Understand the client's business processes and translate business data & reporting needs to new business intelligence & reporting solutions using Cubes and DMRs

- Work with client business units to determine technical requirements for reporting needs and both recommend and implement the appropriate approaches in the Cognos BI application suite to satisfy these needs

- Serve as a consultant to clients to ensure that information needs are understood, complete requirements and specifications are identified, and the appropriate analysis, research, report, or other support is identified to address those needs

Competency: Skills & Knowledge/ Values and Behaviours:

- B.Tech/B.E/B. Stats/MCA is mandatory. Preferred Master's degree (MBA / Statistics / Economics)

- Experience guiding business partners in helping them understand their IT data systems

- Experience helping the business elicit data analytics, reporting and BI requirements

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and abilities

- Ability to work in a rapidly changing and growth oriented environment with regularly changing priorities and developing opportunities

- Prior experience in an Insurance related field preferred

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to influence and gain consensus

- Strong team player, with an ability to work in an unstructured environment and a drive to learn new skills and business processes

Data Warehousing

- Experience with data warehouse/data mart design and definition to support business analytics and reporting

- Experience with ETL and data modeling

Reporting and Business Intelligence

- Experience creating complex reports, dashboard applications and scorecards in the Cognos BI toolset

- Ability to analyze and develop reporting systems architecture in Cognos BI

- Knowledge of OLAP analysis and cube development

- Experience analyzing data and interpreting results

- Experience with Cognos Administration and security (optional)
