JOB SUMMARY :
The role will primarily support sustainability internal/external communications, disclosures, curate programs to involve and build employee capability, assist in fund raising activity, support internal functional teams to improve their ESG performance through data-analysis and opportunity identification.
The key tasks performed by the role will be :
- Assist company in integrating sustainability strategy with core business. This inter alia covers stages in the process like - policy & governance, identifying sustainability material issues, integrating climate change impact and other ESG risks, developing internal controls and measurement systems.
- Curate repository of sustainability practices and achievements of Waycool and support disclosures that align with GRI/IR/BRR reporting guidelines.
- Work along with functional teams to design sustainability projects that generate business value, help measure the impact, align with UN SDG goals, develop concise project case studies/reports.
- Work along with corporate communication team to identify and provide concise stories for social media campaigns and promotional activity.
- Identify E&S impact grants/fund raising opportunities and support making timely application to ensure scaling-up the social and environmental impact initiatives of Waycool.
- Support ESG team in executing projects contributing to Waycool sustainability ambitions viz., Net zero carbon, water positivity, zero waste to landfill and sustainable rural livelihood.
- Adopt creative approach that promotes sustainability culture within Company by enabling employee involvement - newsletter, quarterly highlights, quiz, competitions etc.
- Build sustainability knowledge and capabilities of internal teams, via guidelines, tools, best practice documents, workshops etc.
Functional Competencies :
- Knowledge of sustainability standards/frameworks - IFC Performance Standards, GRI, IR, SDGs etc.
- Knowledge of climate change risk management (TCFD) across value chain (preferably climate resilient agriculture practice)
- Prior experience of sustainability/integrated report development, materiality, and stakeholder engagement
- Prior experience of working in environment and social impact-based grants and funding programs (domestic and global)
- Strong understanding of ESG and climate change related regulations, technologies, and best practices
