Analytics team @Walmart Labs is focused on using the latest technology in BigData to generate business value, thereby helping Walmart to identify Actionable Insights from the huge data set (Which is exponentially growing). We build prescriptive models to empower decision-making, Develop Reference Architectures that are used across Walmart, for the continuously challenging & changing Big Data Analytics Eco System. Advanced Analytics driven by our team will help Walmart to optimize retail operations, business practices and change the way people shop.

We are active in most of the Hack events, utilizing the Peta Bytes of data at our disposal, to build some of the coolest ideas. All the work we do @Walmart Labs will eventually benefit our operations & our associates, helping Customers Save Money to Live Better.

Your Opportunity

As an Senior Statistical Analyst for @Walmart Labs, you- ll have the opportunity to

- Drive analytics insights across the division by developing advanced statistical models and computational algorithms based on business initiatives

- Lead small and participates in large data analytics project teams by serving as the technical lead for project teams

- Direct the gathering of data, assessing data validity and synthesizing data into large analytics datasets to support project goals

- Utilize big data analytics and advanced data mining techniques to analyze data

- Identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in data. Determine additional data needed to support insights

- Build and train statistical models for replication for future projects

- Present recommendations to business partners and influencing future plans based on insights.

Your Responsibility

- Analyze data based on identified variables, reviewing data results to ensure accuracy, and communicating results and insights to the project team and business partners.

- Determining root cause of business problems, developing contingency plans for data analysis

- Designing data collection tools to conduct primary research to answer business initiatives

- Develop and recommend process standards and best practices across the retail industry

- Mentor peers and analysts across the division in analytical best practices

- Consult with business stakeholders regarding data insights and recommendations by developing insights based on data analysis

- Engage with EIM associates in ISD (Information System Division) BV (Bentonville) for delivering best services to the customers around the globe

- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

Your Qualifications

- Bachelor's with - 7 years of relevant experience OR Masters with - 3 years of relevant experience OR PHD in Statistics/Mathematics with relevant experience

- Experience in Analyzing the Medium Complex Problems and translate it into Analytical Approach

- Experience in Machine Learning : - Data/Text Mining, NLP, Decision Trees, Adaptive Decision Algorithms, Random Forest, Search Algorithms

- Experience in Statistical Learning:- Diagnostic Analytics, Simulation and Predictive Modeling, Web Analytics, Time Series, Dynamic/Causal Model, Statistical Learning, Guided Decisions

- Lead role mentoring Jr. Analysts on approach and results

- Experience with big data analytics and advanced data mining techniques to analyze data

- Experience with identifying trends, patterns, and outliers in data

- Experience with statistical programming languages using analytical Packages/library :- R, Python

- Experience with statistical Tools (R studio, Revolution R, Win Python)

- Experience with SQL and relational databases, data warehouse

- Experience with big data platforms - Hadoop(Hive, Pig, Map Reduce, HQL)

- Domain Knowledge : Customer Data, Transaction Data (Retail)

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

- Industry knowledge of the retail space with keen interest in keeping up to date on the latest happenings in this space

- Experience with data warehouse platforms - Teradata / Green Plum, No SQL Databases (Cassandra)
