Role Context: - The Wadhwani Catalyst Fund is a continuum of Dr. Romesh Wadhwani's vision of accelerating economic development in emerging economies and impacting lives by empowering people with high-value jobs and healthcare access to enhance their quality of life. The fund is sponsored by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, who is a Silicon Valley based serial entrepreneur and PE investor. - The Fund is focused on funding global companies/organizations/programmes which are creating large-scale jobs and driving healthcare innovation. It is an emerging markets funds, with initial focus on India. It will fund for profit early growth companies which are leveraging technology, scalable and sustainable; and non-profits / foundations which create system level change. Roles &amp; Responsibilities: - Integrally involved with all aspects of the funding process, including: sourcing, talking to bankers / investors/partners, developing partnerships, deal evaluation, performing due diligence; handling negotiations; structuring transactions, portfolio management and exits. - New deal development and analysis - relationship development with multiple stakeholders to source new opportunities for funding non-profit organizations/platforms as well as high growth companies. Validation of industry thesis &amp; business model, validating the impact thesis, competitive industry and market analysis leading to a recommendation - Transaction execution - financial modelling and analysis, industry analysis, assisting in documentation and transaction structuring, leading diligence in specific areas, preparation of all material required for presenting deal to IC - Portfolio management - day to day monitoring of portfolio companies, following of global industry trends and competitive landscape, analysis and preparation for board meetings - Responsible for independently managing execution and research; work autonomously alongside the AVP / VP or directly with fund head Skills &amp; Experience: - Two to three years experience in early stage/growth investing, impact investment, consulting, investment banking - Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate and manage intermediaries and promoters and prepare all deal materials - Strong analytical and problem solving skills, knowledge of corporate finance and accounting is required - Services (logistics, marketplaces, etc), Education / skilling and Healthcare sector experience is preferred. - Understanding of business dynamics across key sectors and characteristics of good opportunities. Also understanding of how various programs are designed &amp; executed nd what are the key success factors to drive impact - Outstanding academic background with undergraduate degree from a reputed college, along with post graduate degree in business / accounting from premier institutes - Ability to operate with limited supervision.
