These include rural & urban micro finance institutions, retail NBFCs, and housing finance companies. IFMR Capital connects these institutions with capital markets and investors such as banks, insurance companies, and mutual funds through financial tools such as securitization, credit enhancement and debt structuring.

Position: VP – Treasury (Fund Raising)

Reporting to – Senior Partner

The VP - Treasury will be responsible for assisting the Head - Treasury with fund raising for both debt and equity funds towards ensuring that IFMR Capital has adequate funds at its disposal to meet business objectives. The position will be based in Chennai, India.

Key Responsibilities: The Head of Treasury is an important and responsible role in IFMR Capital, responsible not only for fund raising and ALM, but also for providing strategic inputs and establishing key long term relationships important for the firm.

Raising Debt

- Build strong relationships with existing and future lenders. Substantially increase our traction with public sector banks

- Appraise, ascertain and assist in raising debt from banking and non banking sectors including treasury, Mutual Fund, Pension Funds etc

- Advise covenant options available

- Negotiate term sheet and facility agreements etc., with flexibility built in through security trustee agreements etc.

Raising equity / tier 2 capital

- Develop an equity raising strategy, including selection of investment banks, lead managers, potential investor list and coverage strategy

- Develop parameters for determining the valuation of the company, including an understanding of deals in the market, comparables etc.

Asset Liability Management

- Advises on investment into debt market instruments after due monitoring of performance

- Advises on investment taking advantage of rate movements

- Develop an appropriate transfer pricing model that is available as an output to the Origination team, that takes into account interest rate risk and incorporates appropriate hedging strategies to minimize interest rate risk

Relationship Management

- Contacts potential lenders and investors, presents business proposition of IFMR Capital, follows up for sanctions and takes ownership

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

- MBA or a post graduate from a premier institute

Minimum Experience:

- Minimum 7 years relevant experience in raising capital for a corporate / NBFC, with existing relationships amongst mainstream financial institutions

- Experience in raising funds through loans, as well as capital market instruments

- Understanding of asset liability and interest rate risks faced by financial institutions, especially non-deposit taking NBFCs

- Prior experience in equity raising is a plus
