VP - Rural Marketing & Distribution Channel

Vice President, Desta Rural Channel

This is a senior management role to lead Desta’s vast rural marketing and distribution channel in villages.

Responsibilities:

- Overall PnL responsibility for Desta’s rural channel

- Create and implement efficient policies for logistics, cash collection, marketing and inventory management

- Expand Desta’s sales management team and lead expansion of Desta into 30-50 districts

- Manage a growing team of 3 District Sales Managers and 18 Sales Co-ordinators

- Build an effective and healthy working environment

- Define and carry out a sales incentive plan for sales staff and village managers

- Establish and maintain a high level of service for Desta’s village managers

Preferred Qualifications:

- Need to have at least two years hands on experience in implementing sales and logistics policies

- Prior business leadership and PnL responsibility experience is preferred

- At least two years experience in consulting in logistics/sales team management is preferred

- MBA from a top school preferable

- Prior entrepreneurial experience is preferred

- Experience of working in agriculture/rural industry is preferred

- (Very) Strong analytical and problem solving skills required

- Need to have an obsession for efficient and effective operations

- Should have exceptional networking and communication skills

- Need strong family support to excel in such a fast paced startup

- Unquestionable integrity and dedication to the cause of Desta to increase income of customers on a large scale

- Willingness and commitment to put in many hours to build a successful organization for years to come

Location: Mumbai

Travel: 25%

Compensation: Competitive. Compensation would be in cash and stock. Compensation cannot be the primary driver. We are looking for leaders who can grow with the organization for many years to come.
