About our Client - Our client is a US based MNC specializing in the Non- Dairy Foods space, alongside a Global presence and an ever-increasing India footprint. They are extremely driven by the business initiatives in their endeavor to become the market leaders in their space relying heavily on innovation and NPD, and need a VP R&D to lead the responsibility for the same.

Job Description - Reporting to the Executive Director & CEO, the incumbent will be responsible for:

- To update current formulas for products manufactured according to WHQ guidelines and standards.

- To lead all aspects of New Product Development process including planning, scheduling, lead product stability and performance study, selection and modification, develop testing procedures and ensuring these standards conform to national and international standards.

- Direct the Research and Development (R&D) program, from new product proposal to commercialization

- To be accountable for legal compliance for all products manufactured in India including government and international food regulations, raw materials, process systems, labeling, packaging.

- To represent the company to participate in Standard Committees and Associations for Food industry and keep abreast of latest local and central government food regulations.

- To formulate and communicate local strategies and develop local policies to reflect and implement changes in requirements.

- To keep WHQ and management update on GMO issues and develop policies and procedures to handles these issues.

- To lead legal registration processes and certification of products with local and central authorities.

- To provide expertise in continuous improvement processes to enhance company position and customer satisfaction.

- Drive accountability, consistency, quality, and process standardization across all phases of research and development.

The Successful Candidate:

- Master degree or PhD in food science or related field with a minimum of 10-15 years experience with basic knowledge of Dairy/Non Dairy/Bakery & confectionery food production.

- Extensive working experience in plant quality, product development and technical processes along with understanding of Indian Food Industry is highly desirable.

- Good knowledge of sanitation, food microbiology besides regulatory requirements for food processing in India and an experience in ISO certification is preferred.

- Ability to work with business leaders and the ability to develop business models/proposals and take business decisions is a must.
